Cold_Gambler
I'm considering shelling out for the last upgrade I can make to my rig: upgrading the RAM from 1 GB (2 X 512MB DDR) to 2 GB (2 X 1 GB) 1) is it worth it to upgrade to 2 Gigs for FB? 2) do 184 pin DDR2 Ram exist? or do I have to buy DDR? 3) Why is DDR more expensive than DDR2 for any given memory capacity? My system: XP2500+ on a A7N8X-deluxe ATI 850 pro 2 X 512 MB PC 3200
Blairgowrie
Afraid you are stuck with DDR Angus if you stay with that board and rig. If you go with something like Kingston RAM you should be able to get it reasonably cheaply. 2gb would help reduce stutters. I just gave away a Barton 3000 chip to a buddy of mine and sold 2gb of PC200 of OCZ low latency ram
BBloke
I agree with Jim but would say stick to 1gb personally.
Cold_Gambler
Thanks again Bbloke... I've OC'd in the past but backed down over the summer- one benefit of winter is a cold computer room. Wished I'd said something, Jim!
