On the older Macs it definitely will NOT work. Otherwise try what BBloke said. Having said that, if he has ~ US$500 burning a hole in his pocket, he should be able to get a basic computer + vid card which would enable him to play online... just not at very high eye-candy. I'm running an AMD XP2500+, ATI X850pro, A7N8X (with SoundStorm chip) and 1 gig of DDR 3200, which is long in the tooth but I'm still able to run all my eye candy option to the max (but not in "perfect", of course), and I'm fine in 90% of online time.
