  5. One of the key things is when you get to a 'restore' point make sure you go to that thread and follow the directions there (usually deleting some folder for a clean install of new part). I did parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9 The other main thing to is to be sure to install in the proper order and as the file names do not let them be listed in order in Explorer that needs to be double checked to be sure to get the order correct. Also Extract all the parts in a temp folder (each part in its own folder) and then just move the files to the IL-2 folder one at a time choosing to overwrite. Do not extract to IL-2 folder as some people seemed to have issues doing it that way. Also do not enable anything in JSGME while installing When done run IL-2 Selector.exe and Select "The Jet Age 1946-2016" Game Type and adjust the memory to 1024 Save Settings and the Choose Start IL-2 Now

  7. I was not suggesting that this be a replacement for what is played now rather just a little test to see how and if it would work at all and then only for a few guys that might be interested.
  8. Here are a couple videos that will give you an idea of what it has. They are fairly new and represent the graphics current in CUP. It seemed like it was going to be a PIA but really was not bad when I followed the video I will post Best tutorial for installing CUP. You don't have to install all the Modules http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,47647.0.html I am curious if we people install the same base Module if multiplayer would not work. Remember this is a simplified flight and systems model. But it looks better than Strike Fighters 2 from what I can see. With SweetFX and some Nvidia Control Panel tweaks it looks quite nice
  9. I lowered #define HDRPower 1.15 //[0.00 to 8.00] Strangely lowering this makes the image brighter to brighten it up a tad from the settings file I tried.

  12. After installing the 1946 CUP Jet Age module I worked on a UDPSpeed skin to use with the F86. I decided on creating one like bolox has done (a single background for all gauges) as it will run a lot faster. I used parts from DocPL and Dick Dastardly. Needs a little tweaking but so far I am pleased with this work in progress.

  19. The JSGME has SweetFX and settings all included. Just activate it and it will install it all in the correct locations if you have it setup correctly. When you deactivate it will remove the files.
  20. Personally I downloaded and installed the final 1.5.3 which solved some of the issues I was having. It was a pretty easy update from Open Beta Seeing as DCS changed the texture folder location from Open Beta and a lot of the new MOD's are using that it was another reason to upgrade. All the MOD zips I post will be for 1.5.3 non beta Barthek is working on a new Ground texture MOD with improvements. I will post when he does Toad if you need help we can meet on Teamspeak this week here is what my _MODS folder looks like

  23. I have uploaded a new zip that has an updated 4.0 (for use with High Visability setting) as well as another MOD that really looks good by changing the cloud shadows. If you use something other than High then change these lines in what file you do use noisemin = 0.7; noisemax = 1.2; noise1front = 1000.0; noise1back = 22000.0; noise1top = 2100.0; noise1bottom = 1900.0; noise1PerSquare = 3.0; noise2PerSquare = 150.0; If you using JSGME go ahead and try it... it is easy to change back. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bhfsy6b5w2e94y0/_MODS.zip?dl=0
