  1. Here's a quote from jason regarding the new patch;

    "Sorry guys,

    We were hoping for today, but should be ready Monday. We had some last minute issues to correct with the new Response Curve section and some Career niggles to fix. A couple more days of testing and it's ready.

    This gives me time to make a primer on the new Input section.

    Just hang in there a little longer and the Harry Tate will be all yours!

    And I don't live on the beach. Far from it guys.

    Jason"

  2. I found a webpage that helps with monitor calibration. I've always just winged it with my monitors, but this really makes a difference for me with night visibility and daytime glare . http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

    I mostly worked with the Black levels/ White saturation/ and then gamma/ contrast. Took me a while to get it all balanced, but was worth it in the end.

    a quick how-to video http://cnettv.cnet.com/calibrate-your-lcd-monitor/9742-1_53-50085660.html

  3. I tried using notepad++ to reassign them. It should have worked, but i ended up merging Joy1 with Joy2...doh.

    BTW, notepad++ has a great batch feature, You can load up all of your profiles at once, then do a 'Find/Replace All in Open Files'. It will find all the 'Joy1' and replace them with 'Joy2' in all of your profiles. (You can guess this is where i F'd it up)

    I think the easiest way would be BEFORE you reinstall your OS, check your profile page in ROF and see which devices you are using and where they are going, ex. Joy0 is my Stick, Joy1 is my rudder, Joy2, and so on.... Then do your upgrades. When its time to plug in your usb devices, Just plug them in with that same order and you should be golden. This worked for me(after the 2nd install and with the exception of my notepad++ F-up.)

    Good luck.

  4. I just upgraded my computer with a new cpu and mobo. i wanted a clean install so i formatted the drive and reinstalled everything. I then plugged in my joystick,rudder,throttle randomly. Now, when i go to use my backed up profiles in ROF, my joystick/throttle/rudder are all on different USB ports.

    I have found you can edit the input.map files with notepad++ but i don't want to spend years finding/replacing all these profiles.

    Is there an 'easy' way to get this workin?. I'm just about ready to reformat again and install the devices in order, or just redo them all... I searched a bit on the ROF forums with no luck. any ideas?

  5. I was surfing around and came across a few cool WW1 e-books. If you scroll down the page there is a small section on Air Warfare. http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/World_War_I_%28Bookshelf%29

    Here's a few I've been looking at;

    An Aviator's Field Book the field reports of Oswald Bölcke, http://www.gutenberg.org/files/30011/30011-h/30011-h.htm

    Night Bombing with the Bedouins, http://www.gutenberg.org/files/26879/26879-h/26879-h.htm (I really enjoyed the last chapter of this one)

    There's also a Richthofen book, but my german is nicht gut.

    On top of that there's a wealth of info on everything else going on during that time. Check it out!

    (there's even a few with pictures for those of us(me)with ADD.
