All the gamma radiation from those old CRT's probably cause impotence anyway, sheesh that's a lot of CRT's.

Yeah....a tiny bit trickier than plonking a Cessna 152 down on to Manstons 9000' runway.

Does he share a name with a frog?

I am tempted, I think I have a similar set of circumstances to Jabo though, fanny doesn't like dusting, but I need to recreate one of my Facebook pics with a proper Charlie Brown.

Funniest thing, because of this I ended up watching a few other Lego battle recreations, some guy seems to do an entire series of them, really sad to see in the comments section people complaining the Germans never win.....this world is fucked.

Apparently the East Kirkby Lanc is being restored to flying condition and a second Lanc in Canada too........4 airworthy Lancs!!!! there are something like 17 more or less complete Lancs in the world.

LOL....I know.....I gotta stop doing that.

I don't think not seeing it was such a problem, he mainly spoke simply say how unusual it felt knowing his situation that he couldn't see it, the fact they train so hard to be able to land consistently on the exact same spot with precision means seeing the stool is not important, I would Imagine they'd like to keep such a thing a small and practical size for rapid deployment.

Weird looking aircraft, don't recognize it at all.

I thought it had been possible for ages, it was done via loophole, pay £3000 for a membership fee and get a complimentary half hour ride in the grace spit.
My understanding of upcoming regulations don't sound that friendly, this EASA business is beginning to sound like a fiasco, honestly it is European bureaucracy gone mad, they issue a licence which is all printed on an A4 sheet and give you a tiny multi sleeve license holder and then give strict instruction that the license page must 'not' be cut down to its individual sections to fit inside the multi sleeve holder??? I might not be allowed to fly the Stearman any more because it is an Annex 2 aircraft, to fly it I might have to have a national license along side the EASA one.........I could go on.
A lottery win and I might talk to these folks, one of the instructors there is a colleague who flies the Stearman too.
-
With enough dollar being waved about then getting a ride in a 2 seat spit is easy, I wouldn't want to speculate on any other methods not involving large sums of cash.
-
I just can't believe how expensive it is, the Stearman is cheaper per hour than the Tiger Moth.............8 Grand for a 10 hour conversion to a Harvard, if Guy Black was running this outfit he'd use a Chipmunk for the Spitfire conversion.
-
Video is now fixed, the acid trip is over......now for some sleep
-
I wonder if they could use someone with 270 hours on Tiger Moth's?
-
I wish I hadn't opted for the youtube shaky video fix, now it looks like you're on acid the way everything warps, thanks for the compliments though guys.
-
A bit gratuitous but here's another vid of me from yesterday, using my gopro 3, enjoy it in HD.

Welcome, I remember when I was the newbie, now I don't have to suck any more YIPEE!!

Eric Goujon flying the corsair, he was flying the Learjet for the same company I worked for, in fact I was taken on to replace him after he left.....apparently he hated the job too.

The UK is the 4th largest contributor to ESA
-
If they were US citizens they would not have flown.
Unless they were British ex-pats
-
According to the BBC I was on the right track, an article I just read mentions the fact the UK don't fund astronaut programmes and that is why the Brits have to get US citizenship.
-
The very nature of NASA and the size of its budget means its an enormous political football. What do I mean by hearts and minds? Look at the long list of countries you've given us. A Saudi astronaut? That's about waving to the cameras, wearing the flag and making sure the next big defence contract his uncle signs will be with a US company.
The er... ex-Brits on the other hand, do indeed appear to be doing a meaningful job within NASA.
I have no doubt about the Saudi being about lucrative contracts, the ex Brits.....who are still Brits with dual citizenship and in receipt of things like OBE's as recently as 2011 still had to become Americans, but Mexicans and Belgians don't?
