  1. So it sounds like I should pickup a ffb2. I hope it will not be too complicated to reduce effect on stick from firing cannon & guns. There are rebuilt ones on Ebay for $156.00 plus shipping (one year warranty) It’s what I would have to pay if I don’t want to wait for something else and take my chance that its not worn out. Also will it be difficult to get the sim to recognize the ffb2 as the primary stick so I can fiddle with settings if I chose to? If I am not mistaken, there is a throttle on base of stick, can this be used for something other than throttle? I would still have my X45 stick hooked up, will I have to load software for both sticks (so I will have 2 programs running in regards to joysticks), many problems with that? Also, what about losing force feedback it I Alt – Tab out of sim? Am I recalling that right? If so is there any way of restoring the ffb afterwards or is it just lost for that session unless I re-launch the sim?
  2. I thought that was the reason to get the stick, to be able to feel a stall coming on. I thought the gun shake could be turned off allowing the stick only to give you feedback about flight conditions.
  3. Thinking of alternatives to my X45 Hotas. The stick is starting to get a little sloppy in the center position. Now I think you guys seem to like the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 USB Joystick, is this the correct model? How is the stick accuracy? If you have to Alt-Tab out of the sim do you lose the force feedback function, I am sure somebody told me that, think it was Toad. Any comment or tips will be appreciated.
  4. Nice mod. I take it that the X52 by itself didn't cut the mustard and that the old force feedback is still a better stick? I read someplace that the force feedback gets cancelled in you Alt Tab out of the sim for any reason.
  5. LOL. Both sound good but will not be happening anytime soon I am afraid.
  6. You guys don't fly late enough for me on weekdays.
  7. Welcome to the Pound bro.
  8. Ok, I popped off the e-mails How do I get on JO TS this evening, is the TS address somewhere on their site.
  9. Joint Ops Hey guys I registered to Joint Ops a few days ago but have not heard anything back form them, is this normal? I saw a post just recently from someone that has as well and it sounds like he received an email from them. Should I re-register??
  10. Well I hope the missing people put their location back on, it would be nice to know where everybody is from, I find it interesting.
  11. Its been mentioned that 9 may be a little late, if another hour is suggested on a case by case basis things might be rearranged, nothing is written in stone.
  12. I am on my computer most evenings, starting at about 9:00 pm Mountain Standard Time or 03:00 GMT Dogz Time. Now I know that is not a good time for those in Europe but then you guys fly way to early in my day to join in other than on weekends. So for those on this side of the pond, when my time is not too late already…………… Now I don’t have an account with a server or anything like that so its not like I will be hosting anything but I notice on Hyperlobby there are many choices that have very similar settings to the Dogz Co-ops. Some of these sites (for lack of a better word on my part) are empty of anyone, sometimes they have a few Bots flying around etc. Anyway, it’s a meeting place that can be made use of and I am sure I am not the first to suggest this. Another option would be to get on a dogfight site and fly as a flight or team etc. as opposed to singly, much like in Dogz Co-op but scaled down in scope etc. Just a thought. If possible instead of just going at each others throats I would like to use it as a chance to learn from those with more experience, either going thru the paces, chasing Bots or getting in on dogfights but trying to work together. Would also have to be hooked up Teamspeak otherwise its impossible to accomplish main goal on my part. Pretty hard to co-op or correct and instruct without it. Anyway just floating this out there, some may have a better idea, that’s fine, I am game. I usually check the Dogz site a few time a day as puter is on webpage most of my work day, I glance at it once in a while, easy place to get a hold of me is to PM me there, or my email is truenorthprinting@yahoo.ca So if you think you would be free sone evenings, just get in touch, we can hopefully work something out time wise etc. and go from there.
  13. Am I doing something wrong, I click on the members map link and it brings me back to the DD Forum screen, no map!!!!!
  14. Glad to hear that the new sim is sorting itself out slowly. I will have to experience it through your comments as my puter is nowhere near capable of running it and that will not change anytime soon.
  15. Well here is something for Mayhem & MadTrooper and any other Headbangers in the group. Also makes for a good COD theme music I think. But then this bunch is probably is aware of Sabaton’s song already, as it’s been out for a while now.
  16. How do you post videos like that in here?
  17. Ahh, the kids have the buying power with this stuff so thats how it goes.
  18. Thank you both for getting back to me on that.
  19. Yes, I agree, a press to talk button has to be somewhere on the HOTAS if its to be practical. I am just getting into all this and have yet to get eveything setup, I see its a process that doesn't happen overnite.
  20. This sounds intersting and would also work for us guys that fly offline as well, like to issue commands to wingmen etc. This "speech recognition utility found in the control panel", thats the Windows contol panel? What version of Windows if it is? As for push to talk button, a utility would be needed to do this?
  21. Does it crash when running other programs? Hey Crash No, other programs are pretty stable. I have run other games for hours and have had no issues. At first IL2 would crash because I did not have enough memory, it would happen when lots of objects and action would happen. I upped memory to 2 Gig. That seemed to solve that issue. The two 1 Gig chips are brand new and should be Ok but you never know. Now, as then, it crashes, actually it goes to system re-boot, at any given time, sometimes just when launching the sim. I usually just launch it again and its fine. Will run sometimes for hours, then boom. Sometimes I get a blue screen with a dumping memory message, most times its blank screen, accompanied by noise in headset, I don’t touch anything and after about 30 seconds of this lock up it goes to re-boot to desktop along with XP’s fatal error do you want to report message. I usually just start sim again and continue. To me its probably something fundamental to my system and configuration that IL2 has issues with but I am not skilled to solve more than just the most basic of conflicts.

    Up2.01

Ok, somebody give me the low down on this UP2.01. I know its some sort of switching program of sorts I think. I am patched up to 4.101, so will this work when someone talks about running 4.09 etc. I am hesitant to add too much to the sim in an effort to avoid crashing problems that may occur because things get to complex or conflicts etc. So after you install it, do you run it before IL2 or ……….
