  1. alright, i thought that maybe the "-" in my "-MODS" folder was the problem, as there is no other folder with "-" in front of the name. So I removed that. I got the startup load screen and it was indeed in widescreen (by default it's in 4:3 without a widescreen mod and you get the dreaded black bars on each end of the screen if you're using 16:9/10). But now it won't load, gets up to 70%ish and crashes to desktop. So I have to rename the mods folder back into "-MODS" if I want to play (in which case again, the mod doesn't work). I even tried renaming the folder in capital and non capital letters. With -MODS the mod won't work, with just MODSthe game starts in widescreen but then crashes

    weirdness

  2. I don't get it, do I just place the ecranwide2 folder in the mods folder and that's it? because it just doesn't make anything happen, as if there's no mod enabled at all

    mod is here:

    F:\Il-2 Sturmovik\-MODS\2 Ecran_Wide

  3. Isn't there a "no frame" mod for the map?

This looks like a custom resolution problem. Still look the same when you change it?

Dunno about any map mod, will check it out.

I had my 1920x1080 resolution before i installed UP and all was good. Maybe it's due to the exranwide mod that I'm using with UP....

  4. for anyone wondering why I always have dificulty reporting a map position, this is what my in game map looks like

I don't mind the ugliness, but reading the X axis coordinates is a bit of a pain. It's been like this ever since I first installed UP. Ran the updater, didn't help. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears :)

  5. Oh very nice, I can smell the fresh air through that picture.

(no intention to hijack the thread but...)

I love heights. In fact, I love them so much that I did a similar thing 4 years ago. I climbed this thing.

    toplana2.jpg

Went for a little adventure. In 3:30am, infiltrated thermal plant grounds which were unguarded at the time, over a fence right next to the town police station which is just some 10 meters away

I didn't climb to the top but only to the middle, the middle ledge that goes all around the chimney. May not look olike much but the lowest ledge is about 4 stories high. I *DIED* of fear up there, it was up to then the most frightening experience of my life, on the middle of that chimney I was looking down on 12 story buildings nearby, and my own 7 story building looked like a toy. The ledges were actually grille so it was like walking on air the whole time. (I didn't walk actually, I crawled because I dared not stand up)

These pictures are horrible for they were taken by a 2 megapixel cell phone camera. (first two pictures were from first attempt when I only got to the lowest most ledge, others are from the second attempt when I got to the middle)

one of the fuel storage tanks of the thermal plant, this was taken from a lower ledge

I vowed to return one day and climb all the way to the top, with a safety harness this time so I can rest if I get too tired, it's hard stuff climbing a ladder almost 100 meters. Thing is, they have a security guard now, and there is only one way to get to the chimney, which is surrounded by structures from all sides, and the only way to it would make me seen by the guard. :/

Also, would be nice if this was a thread where other people post their town photos too :) I may post some proper ones later

  6. Naah, it's a hookah, what you smoke in it is up to you ;)

I use it for what it was made for, hookah tobacco (aka shisha), best thing in the world for a relaxing afternoon. Speaking about shisha my supply has ran out and I should get more, thing is, here it is THIRTY times as expensive as when I bought it in Tunisia <_<

An opium pipe looks more like a flute, or those native american tobacco smoking pipes

  7. Here's some more pictures, not nearly as high quality, with a cheap camera and a damaged lens, mostly of stuff Gec might have missed/didn't post.

Also, you'll get no thumbnails from me. Don't hate me, laziness is a disability.

This is the Soko G-2 Galeb, the first Yugoslavian built jet fighter, from 1961. This one flew in from Serbia, I couldn't help to wonder whether it bombed our cities 15-20 years earlier.

Got stuck in a hole with the nose wheel, yes, that's people pushing a jet fighter :roflmao:

I went up on a fly above the capital in this crate. It was like riding in an old Yugoslav car with wings

Zoom. The pinnacle of the Croatian airforce, only 50 years outdated

Hoping to fly this charming obsolete crate myself next spring, depends on the funds.

More of the Meteor. Not only is it unique, it has no designated max speed, and I remember reading that it was flown in excess of 500km/h which to my knowledge is almost science fiction as far as gliders are concerned.

My favorite also, this thing is pure luxury on wings. So unique and amazing. The inside is confy and modern, glass cockpit, just land, take a swim and get back in the air again. I wonder if it's air conditioned :D
