did the card sound to you like it was going to take off into the sky at any moment? because that's how it sounds to me....I may have a wee bit of a problem here....working on it.

dunno really. it sounds like........a graphics card. It was working perfectly. perhaps it's just louder than your old one? Oh yeah, have a look at this for settings;

It was idling on 80° C with the fan screaming like a Tempest, but nevermind that, works like a charm now
Just had to unclog the heat sinks from generous amounts of british dust
All is fine now and thanks again mate, I can't wait to start reading those books (after exams!).
