As some of you may know I have started experiencing connection difficulties ever since I moved back to england. I did not have these issues, even though it is the same room, same ISP.
I sent them an email, and this is the reply I recieved :
Hi Teodor,
We do not exactly block / unblock certain ports. You are behind a NAT firewall that will only allow incoming connections which are related to an already established connection. This basically means that if some software on your computer initiates a connection then any related traffic coming back through our gateway will be allowed, but if for instance somebody tried to connect to your computer via a service such as FTP this would be blocked by our firewall.
The only disadvantage from this that I can think of is that it will prevent you running most types of servers as the incoming connections would be blocked before they even reached your machine,
