  1. This is soooo relevant. I have bought a Haynes manual for virtually all my motorbikes and cars and have used some a lot, notably the ones for older style Minis and BMW 'R' series boxer engined motorbikes. I am pleased to say that I haven't bought one for the Moto Guzzi or the Isuzu Trooper yet as they are, respectively, still under warranty and 12 years old. If I have to do something to the Trooper that requires a Haynes Manual then I would prefer to spend the money on a replacement vehicle as my back/legs/knuckles/patience couldn't stand the stress and strain of outdoor working in all weathers.

Haynes have been useful for me and have saved me loads of money but our relationship is now at an end. ;)

  2. One would then assume that all the myriad of vibrations that occur are merely a cacophony of vibrations and not sounds unless they are actually heard. However this would require some form of definition or quantification of what can actually be regarded as heard.

In conclusion, there are two separate paradigms evolving from this dispute, one stringently positivist and the other relying on largely normative statements. To return the the original topic, silence may not be silence after all.

    How about that?

Mate, anyone who has ever been married is well aware of that. ;)

Absolutely Tribunus. In fact, in that respect silence can be likened to the scenario of an elephant in the room that no-one wants to talk about - something huge is in the way and is acting as a block but people walk around it rather than deal with it.

So, for once I agree with Jedi (cr@p) in that silence may not be silence after all. Silence = elephant

I'm glad I can type this silently rather than saying it......believe me!

  3. Here is a report in the Daily Mail. Brief, but is important as the pilot can now be repatriated and his family can gain some peace in the knowledge that he has been found at last.

  4. Good score Sid. Just as a matter of interest, I compared our individual scores and found something interesting.

    Sid Jim

    Passmark rating 1714 1705

    CPU Mark 6654 4480

    2D Graphics 359 426

    3D Graphics 1013 2695

    Memory Mark 1812 969

    Disk 567 761

    CD 88 195

You have a 3gb Quad which I assume is Intel and I use a 3.4gb AMD quad. I suspect you are using 6 or 8gb of RAM while I am using 4gb.

Anyone care to comment about the CPU difference?

Sorry, I tried to line up the columns but it doesn't work?

Close, aren't they, but it's interesting to see how the scores are made up and compare.

Yes, it is an Intel i7 and I'm running 6gb of 'Crucial' RAM. The graphics cards are a huge difference, your ATI is a beast and my Nvidia 460 is a slightly oc'd mid-range.

  5. Nice find Friar!

At first I just assumed this was just about the flag in the conf.ini. But this is much better..

To start off, I am changing these Friendly killed messages so I feel better:

FriendAircraftDestroyed Enemy Ace: Obliterated by your Superior Skills!
FriendStaticAircraftDestroyed Enemy Ground Aircraft shot to bits!
    FriendTankDestroyed Killed another Can
    FriendCarDestroyed Wasted more bullets?
FriendArtilleryDestroyed Your bravery knows no bounds!
FriendAAADestroyed Guts like yours are unknown to mortal man.
    FriendBridgeDestroyed Enemy Bridge: Weee!
FriendWagonDestroyed Enemy Train turned to trash
    FriendShipDestroyed Enemy Ship go Boom!

Lol, it's good fun altering it and putting stuff like what you have Snacko....

    PlayerWounded Ouch! Not good...

    PlayerWounded2 Bugger! This really hurts...

    Player_Killed Aaaargh.....

  6. ~S~ Chaps,

Thinking about it ....if the weather is a bit naff then it would be nice to have a nearby pub to "gather Inn" on Friday and Saturday evenings.

For that reason my vote would be to go for JP's "limited offer" in Cambridge . Lets decide asap one way or another ...over to you chaps.

I think JP needs to know numbers sooner rather than later for a block booking if we choose that option.

    ~S~ Painless

:iagree: and agree with JPs offer. Am probably coming up on motorbike so will be cadging lifts left, right and centre :D

  8. Similar to Jim, no issues at all with TS3 since we started to use it. I've done multiple updates and it has always worked with all Dogz, from my side anyway, whether they are on the same version or not.

I run a USB headset for TS alone with the game sound coming from the surround sound speakers.
