Loved it
Thanks for posting Cap'n Jack - Beaver's always been one of my favourites, a workhorse and epitomises bush piloting for me.

All seems very straightforward to me....welcome Painless!

I'm used to b@llocks being written on these forums but this takes the biscuit.......

Damn....
The crowd reaction was just the same at Reno. No screaming and shouting, just 'Oh no...no'. Disbelief and trying to comprehend what happened.

Cheers BluBear...

Artists' pastels...coloured sticks, a bit like chalk. Get a dry paint brush and run it over the pastel to get some dust in it. Then brush it over the panel lines etc. to get the desired effect.
-
Hmmm...the photography is what I find difficult.
Building up weathering using pastels. Fluids and exhaust next.

No, I'm far sighted.....

Happy Birthday mate! Have a good'un !!

Wiv a telescope lol.
The light blue and grey paints are from a Tamiya acrylic spray can. I used an Eduard metal 1/72 mottle template with different sizes and patterns along with lots of masking and blu tac - took a while but is was good fun and satisfyingly effective

Janie bought me a box with 2 x FW190s in for my birthday a few months back, built one up.
This is it pre-weathering, not a lot of parts so quick to build but took hours to put the decals on - lots of detail there.
Nice project

Love them...lots to take in, I need to brush up on my constellations.
Well done. Like the picture of the rig too

Couple of WIPs here - the cockpit and also my photography! Will try harder, but basically the detail is building up, a few dials and knobs to colour up. What is noticable is the fact that the dials don't quite line up with the apertures - ah well.
Also, the level of detail with the Eduard etched metal parts is incredible - on the plate by my thumb is the ring gun sight and the spinning fuses for the rockets. Thankful for superglue, cocktail sticks and a magnifying glass.... -
Happy Birthday my friends! Have a good 'un!

Got 2 x 1/48 Tigercats off ebay recently. Both came from 'over the pond' the good old USofA as I couldn't find them in the UK anywhere.
There is an Italeri Tigercat that is an update of the Ertl ones I got but I'm not keen on the shape of the nose - detracts from the lovely curves of the earlier marks. Might get it to complete the line up.
I built the 1/72 model in the other thread as a standard fighter version in the dark blue scheme.
One of the big ones is going to be built as this - a firebomber http://www.hyperscal...000/f7fda_1.htm . I've managed to source the belly tank and decals, again in the US.
The other I've started as an overall yellow scheme and am building it with wings folded. I have separated the wing sections and have started blanking off and building the internal detail.
Got some resin wheels and white metal undercarriage as the vinyl tyres supplied end up melting the kit plastic apparently and it will need some strength in the legs due to the nose weight required to get it to sit on it's wheels. In real life, these aircraft sat on their tails if the fuel tanks weren't kept topped up!!

Cheers Painless 2Spits! From the right angle it is one of THE most awesome looking planes about - it's in me blood so's to speak.
I will put some piccies of the builds up - not taken any yet but I've cut the wings and started the build of the fold area.....oooeeer missus, like the sound of that!
-
Great - that's what I'm going to try. I'll download world and see what happens
-
Right...so Steam versions aren't any good as they can't be directed to work with 'World'?
-
I have already got DCS Black Shark and A10 Warthog via Steam. Do I need the DCS world aswell as Mustang?
-
I've been on ebay recently and found some old Tigercat models - this is a Monogram 1/72 pure fighter
Got 2 1/48 AMT/Ertl models - one I'm building with wings folded, the other is going to be a civilian water bomber or maybe even 'La Patrona'....if I can find some decals. Do those on another thread

The MiG has had a makeover....it is a winter scheme over the basic green. Inspiration was this:
that was found here http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/457/1
Nearly there with the painting, final detail like exhausts and detail needed:
Sprayed with Tamiya acrylics from a can with masking tape, cardboard templates edged with BluTack for the camo edges. Spinner had 3 coats of white, engine cowling had 2 and fuselage had 1 to give the weathered and worn look.
