  1. Here ya go- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4WdFede2wE&feature=youtube_gdata There's another version that I like just as much as this.
  2. I'm with you Snacko, I've watched this more than a few times, it's cheesy, it has people in fruit suits, it looks like it was put together by folks who got together for a few drinks and decided, 'What the hell- let's make a video!'. And it makes me smile. That and a woman dancing about in a pineapple suit, strong medicine in a world gone a little too serious. Toad, I first saw this back when it aired on some video show round about my frosh year of high school. I'm in the mood- watch this space for MORE cheesy vids!
  3. Great stuff! The vet is a Beech 18.
  4. I`d rather not know I was thinking of something for BG's birthday, ya know, searching the web. Seriously, though, my wife forwarded it to me. That, as well as the video itself, raises many disturbing questions. Although, we had a great time with the video at Badaim's the other night!
  5. Defenitely Manhatten. We're staying in Teterboro. Of course, if you wanted to see the airplane, we could meet at KTEB.
  6. Thanks DT- looks like April 14th is the best day for me. I can take the bus from the hotel and meet you on the island. I'll PM you my contact stuff. Looking forward to meeting you!
  7. Erco, You in NYC? Doubletap (aka Glenn) White Plains, and next week Teterboro. This week I'll have wheels.
  8. Anybody want to do anything? I'll be there tomorrow night thru Friday morning.

Intention, yes- but do I have enough time left?! It's been fun collecting the kits, and some guys do collect for the sake of collecting, but I'm a builder, in theory at least. It wasn't always like this, I used to build each kit as I got them. But between taking longer to build kits and people giving me kits and finally having money enough to indulge myself, well, you see the results. I got a big chunk of these kits from an estate sale, at a price you wouldn't believe. I got a bunch from my good friend Bob Lange, who was a Marine tailgunner in the Pacific (SBD's, SB2C's and TBF's), a great modeller, and a dear friend. His collection dwarfed mine, and he realized, I think, that he wouldn't get them done in the time he had left. So, I build some, my son builds some, heck my wife even built a couple when we were first dating! And I suppose that, someday, I might pass a few on to a local kid who's interested, like Bob did for me.

A website with grace, I like it! I thought I'd hit the wrong button, too, but finally gave up and figured that the website made sure we all took turns! Out of curiosity, how long is the grace period? And thanks again, Roger- the new site is looking great, especially the new theme, which is much easier for me to read.

Thanks, Roger! Every time I tried to post another reply, it would just tack my reply onto the end of my previous post, whilst leaving out the pictures. Wierd. Anyhoo, here's a 1/48 Lindberg ME262 that, as part of a diorama, took second place in the only model show I've ever entered. The guy who won did a diorama of Pearl Harbor- the whole thing- during the attack of Dec 7. Here's my favored way of displaying built airplanes. All 1/72, that's the Hasegawa B-17F, the Matchbox P-47D, and Airfix's great little P-51B (wouldn't hurt to dust now and then, I see) And, finally, the Happy Closet:

I need to get some pics of my more recent work, but here are some from a few years ago, and some from many more than a few years ago: The Lindberg B-17G, about 3 years ago Monogram 1/48 Zeke, about 12 years ago And now some childhood builds (all about 25-30 years ago): Italeri DO24 1/72 Matchbox A-20 1/72 Matchbox Buffalo 1/72 Matchbox P-40N 1/72 Lindberg P-47B 1/72 (my first 'serious' model, note the battle damage to match the box art, and the upside-down roundel) Airfix F-86D 1/72 Hm, strange, I can't load any more photos, even if I try to in another post.

Or, instead of a compressor, you can use a CO2 tank with a regulator. Cheap, silent, lasts a long time, and virtually eliminates any possibility of water in the line. My setup:
  14. Also, in case it you've missed it, TS3 has native support for the Logitech G15 keyboards, and it works GREAT! No more need for a separate display program. All you have to do, besides buying a G15, is to go to SETTINGS, then PLUGINS, and tick the box next to G15.
  15. Sorry I missed you guys, I was out flying. BSword, I'm not sure that Beebop has your email. Sometimes he has trouble with his email. Not sure what happened as usually he'll let us know when something is up and he can't host. For myself, I'm still having issues with this new website. I had to log on four times before I could access the full forum. Strange.

    Road Trip

Wow! Thanks for sharing that! If'n it were me, I'd have a hankerin' to climb Mt. Serbal now. Amazing about the one legged chap. I love the stuff you post about Egypt- even a trip to the corner store is eye opening.
  17. Bill Lear, the guy the Learjet is named after, named his daughter Shanda. My wife knew a went to school with a girl named Heavenly. Her last name was Tits.
  18. Upon a closer listen, I think the audio bears you out, Trout.
  19. A friend sent a series of pictures of the hangar that partially collapsed in the recent snowstorm out at Washington Dulles.
  20. There are so many beautiful airplanes... That Arrow is a nice looking airplane, but if you're going to be serious about it, well, here's your baby:
  21. Judging from a number of indications (women's long hair, banners, etc) it would seem that there wasn't really all that much wind.
