  1. Well, you can all sleep easily now that you have seen my face (or perhaps that shpuld be "sleep more feverishly"???). This is me in the cockpit of an old RNZAF DeHavilland Vampire at Wigram Air Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand. Strangely enough, my great uncle, Pat Cooney, passed through this base when it was a major training centre in WW2. He was assigned to Wellingtons and was lost in battle over France or Belgium on his squadron's first mission.
  2. Is that him on the left? I'll have to dig up a pic of me.
  3. Thanks again for the help last night and the screenshot just posted. Much appreciated, Jim. I'll have a look at it today. Cheers Jude
  4. Hi Jim, Yep you are right. It's still pretty early so we are being cautious but all going well in June FlatSpinBaby :BLACK2: will be arriving. That will be different. Anyway, a hand with TS would be good. I'll list some times and see what takes your fancy. You do live the EST zone, right? And you fly Saturday night your time (ie Sparrow-fart early Sunday morning in Japan)? If it is Sunday then that makes it 6am Monday morning or something equally ludicrous. JST-EST I THINK I got the times right but I'm fairly inept at anything with numbers so I could be wrong. 12:00am today Fri (17Nov)- 10amEST Sat 18NOV JST From 9am to 12pm- 7pm to 10pmEST From 9pm to 12am -7am to 10am EST I have Hotmail so I guess I could do MSN Messenger chat. Just a sec. Yep - found it again. I had disabled a while back. I also have gmail chat and skype if that is any help. My hotmail account is jude_nz at hotmail dot com. I am clearly very patriotic in my email usage. Okay, I'll check this site and my email fairly often over the next day or two. Hope to talk to you soon. Any preparations I should do before we get started - you know, common newbie mistakes and so on? Cheers, Jude Enjoy the snow.
  5. Hi. Even though I am something of an unknown quantity around these parts I'd really like a copy. I live in Japan and have no idea when it's coming out over here. I don't have paypal but can set it up or do whatever is preferred. Cash in an envelope is always good.
  6. Ta for the firewall info, Jim and Arthur. I'll have a look at it this weekend. My wife is fairly sick (morning sickness) these days so I'll probably be at home all weekend. Might get up early on Sunday and try and join you all. Or I may just sleep in. Also an option. Cheers anyway, Jude
  7. You boys are welcome to the snow. Here in my part of Japan it is often sunny, blue skied with a cold wind in winter. Much more civilised. I like snow for about 5 minutes and I find it hard to believe that people can actually live in those conditions. I mean NZ and Japan aren't warm in winter but snow must be such a pain in the hindquarters, isn't it? Especially this early. Is it snowing in the Maple Leaf State
  8. Troublemaker [glow=red,2,300]There is a rumour going around that Norton burns up power supplies and hard drives buy I think the rumour is false[/glow] Does anyone know of a free firewall? I know XP has one built in but it's by MS and I assume therefore doesn't work properly.
  9. Thanks, Beebop. That's a nice little bonus to start the working week.
  10. I have been using it for a year or so I guess and it is fine. However, it looks like my free ride is coming to an end as I got a message two days ago saying that it will expire in January. I guess I shouldn't complain about it really.Having used it I'd definitely consider actually paying for it.
  11. This looks like a lot of fun. Great ground details too.
  12. I love this part: And here she is marveling and contemplating the fact that she is being imaged by the world renowned photographer who also happens to be a second Lt in the elite Hellhounds fighter squadron. That's exactly the reason why I signed up with this elite troop of flying heroes - chicks dig it. Bigtime ! The trackIR reflectors dangling off the caps, the hunched shoulders from leaning into the monitor for hours on end. Drives them Wild. Fact. Well, the babes were just part of the attraction, actually. Them and the fact that BG offered me a governorship in the northern reaches of his backyard. I have to raise levies from the pesants on the land in times of war and he recieves tithes and the droit de seigneur but all in all I think it's a fair deal. Besides, I haven't oppressed a peasant properly for ages.
  13. Hey Dazza. Thanks for your message. If your cousin wants to know more about it I am happy to give him some info about some of the big English school companies over here and what the job is like. As for accents, once the students get used to him it's amazing how small a factor it can be. Other teahers may not catch a word he says, especially those from North America who don't hear the accents so much, but the students will be okay. BBLoke, coming from NZ it'd be rude to say no to a beer called "sheepshagger".
  14. And yes, it was the original IL2 demo's P-39 that inspired the name. More of an "Emil" kind of person these days though. By the way, if the Priory of St. Oleg produces any Trappist/Abbey-style beers then I could probably allow myself to taste them for you. I would even waive my usual appearance fee, given that we are all Dogz.
  15. Hello hello, one and all , My humble thanks for rolling out what passes as the red carpet around these parts . It's kind of the same as a red carpet I guess. If I squint. In the opposite direction. And if it was dark. And there was rather less tongue. And possessed, say, more "carpet-ish" properties.
