  1. $9.00 (for the whole bottle) Bourbon for me, Thank you very much.
  2. Hi Deputy, I just got around to this thread just now and I just had to throw my two cents in, as I'm not smart enough to just shut up. I have to aggree with you that the hat switch does exactly the same thing as track IR, in exactly the same way that a Chevette does exactly the same thing as a Corvette (for our english friends the proper correlation would be Austin Mini to Aston Martin). It really is not just a different way of doing the same thing, it does it on a different level. I just wanted to clarify that for you, because if some day you have the extra cash, and or the right deal comes along, I'd hate to see you miss out on a great way to improve the game (for you), because we didn't explain it clearly enough. If you already have a camera on your computer, you can do the same thing with Free Track. As for the rudder pedals, either CH or Saitek make them for around $150. and the Saitek HOTAS can be had for $100 or less, the CH I think for $150 All of this stuff can be added one piece at a time to ease the pain. If you don't want this stuff, it is certainly not neccessary, but I have yet to hear anyone regret upgrading thier gear. The main thing is to have fun, any damn way you please.
  3. I have the same problems with the artifacts, but I'm just living with it as I toooccasionally run other gamesand it works fine for them. As far as raw performance goes (and IQ too, artifacts aside) it's hard to beat the bang-per-buck of the 4850.
  4. Hey! perhaps that could be the theme of our next SEOW, "The invasion of the Android alien Nazis". Brilliant Colin, Brilliant.
  5. It's on everyones mind, Mate. The vast majority of us are middle class working men, and we are to a man feeling the pinch. I for one appreciate your insight, the monkey story is, while being hyper simplified, quite on target. The root cause of this mess is greed, and the rest of us (myself included) buying into the system that feeds it. Contrary to popular belief Jesus did not say that Money is the root of all Evil. He said "The loveof money is the root of all kinds of evil. I know that we have had trouble talking about such subjects in the past, but I can't imagine why we should. I've found that this group is comprised of surprisingly passionate people of quite high intelligence, and as that combination is impossibly hard to find "out there". I'd really like to be able to discuss more that aircraft and tits here. That being said, aircraft and tits at least get our minds off the rest of the crap. :tomcat:
  6. We also learned quite a bit about the day to day operations of business and government as well.........
  7. Bucky, If your using the newer drivers, the profiles are kept in a file in your "shared documents" folder. They are now called a .pro file. If you are upgrading from the older version (.dat) to the newer version (.pro) they are not compatible and you will have to configure it manually.
  8. That's great news Mate, It's good that he has a brother like you that can relate and (as you said) help him digest his experience. I wish him well, and appreciate his and your whole families' sacrifice (It's not just the ones that leave that go to war). P.S. It's comforting to know we have good friends covering our asses on at least one border!
  9. I can just see the poor bastards at the bar later with thier friends. Tossing back doubles "I was IN THE BOAT, man. It was horrible"
  10. As a person who is not only "Into" guns and one who is well trained (and practiced) in their use I kinda have to reply here. I'll start with some plain facts: Guns are a tool. They have no capacity for love or hate or any desire for violence or dread of it. Evil resides in the hearts of men. That said everything I meant to say. Oh, yeah: Boys will be boys, and there is nothing wrong with a little bit of hillbilly fun. :fighting:
  11. I like the '75 too. It's a snappy little plane, and decently armed, certainly not bad for a very early war planeset. Toad and I did well in them Sunday.
  12. Just to add my $.02. I aggree that the damage caused by torpedoes v bombs is not accurate in this game, probably mostly because the damage modelling is so simple and because of the stupid requirement that the pilot live. Torpedo bombing was a bloody dangerous sport and I'm quite sure many successful practitioners never lived to see the fruit of thier labors.
  13. I love that pic of the wife, looks like she's on a commando op. You didn't stand a chance!
  14. Yeah, I know what you mean mate, I'm facinated too, but wouldn't mind having a steak or two to give the people at the soup kitchen who can't afford to eat and pay rent in the same month. It's tough, this giving a .
  15. Not sure aboot the Phantom, but the commercial was classic.
  16. It's OK, we know that THE TOAD NEVER GIVES UP!
  17. But you miss the point Tonar, my naive friend, if we blow up the whole fucking planet, then there is no need to feed the poor or cure diseases. wake me up when I'm dead.
  18. You know this guy was the class clown.
  19. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Then I got a little sad when I realized how weak and shallow my Country has become. Oh well, at least we have stupid people to laugh and point at.
