Hey Hollywood, I host on Wednesday nights starting at about 7:00PM EST, and going usually until I pass out. You are more than welcome to join in on the mayhem. There is also flying Tue. and Thurs. at 2:30 PM EST, but that might be early for you unless you get to play hookey sometimes like me. On sat. at 2:30 there is a more open "UBI" flight with a different TS. Sunday right now is mostly taken up with an intra-squad SEOW match. Oh, BTW welcome to the pound!

Enforcer, did you ever see the "Next Generation" episode where there was like three or for old Klingons trying to start a war, and get more Klingons to join them, so that they could die glorious deaths in battle? That one always reminded me of the song "No one left to run with anymore". Klingons are cool.

Being the unofficial 'Mod Czar' (or is that "official"), I see nothing wrong with downloading maps and effects for those who are equipped to deal with the consequences. I don't think anyone has to tell anyone that Cheating is not acceptable here, and I think everyone knows that downloading Mods is done at your own risk. That said, I cant see any reason that the few Dogz who fly with the Hellers should not be able to ad these Maps for that purpose. If anyone has trouble with Mods I will do my level best to be available to help.

I too watched the entire Spitfire series, much of the time with tears. It reminds one of the time not so long ago when a tiny island Nation stood alone against a tide of evil with a few young men at the razors edge and held not by force of might but by strength of right. We will remember.........

If all you have is the TV, then it'll be fine. You'll be able to get a higher resolution out of the monitor, and from what I've heard the refresh rates on TV's can get pretty low (c20-24Hz) while gaming with them, to the point where it'll give you a headache. You might also want to make sure you get a 1080p TV as that would be just about the minimum for gaming at that size TV. If you can, try hooking the game up to your TV just to see how it looks/runs. Just a few caveats.

I wouldn't worry about a "doomsday device" in BOB. I've read everything that Oleg has said publicly for the past 8 years, and I have found him to be a practical, no nonsense kind of guy (as far as one can tell from just reading about a person) and the doomsday thing is impractical nonsense: it just don't fit. I would also not sweat the computer specs to much either, these guy's write tight code. I would expect BOB to scale as well as the original IL2 did for older machines, and that is really, really well. If I had to guess, any mediocre gaming machine you can build for $1000 will run BOB just fine, albiet not with all the settings cranked up to the max. On a lighter note I think digging up this thread is bloody hilarious! Can you believe we have been waiting this long?
