~S~ Chaps, As far as things being a copy or rip off of previous ideas; It is a known fact that every possible combination of musical notes has already been used, thus in every new tune there are recognisable combinations which remind you of part of another tune. Hence there are millions of cover versions which often out sell the originals because the tune is great but the original band are all dead/uncool ! LOL Likewise just about every story line has also been used, all you can vary is perhaps the time , the place, the characters in detail. That is why there are so many "remakes" right. The same goes for most artwork, something like it has been done before. My point is that to be different you have to get more spectacular and/or technological...................Avatar We are just getting harder to please. ~S~ Painless

~S~ Chaps, Well it's 11.30pm here and I just got back from seeing it in 3D as a birthday treat. I was blown away by the effects, the imagination and digital artwork was truly awesome . I will definitely be going to see it again because there was too much to take in fully. The story is a statement for sure with the expected romance angle to help it appeal to a wider audience. Plenty of SPECTACULAR action , a likable hero and a real dirt bag villain. Sounds like the usual Hollywood package I know but WOW was it entertaining. IMHO I don't think you could ask for much more from this type of movie. I also found myself strangely attracted to the 9ft blue heroine

~S~ JP M8, Strangely I was watching a History Channel program about the Italian airforce yesterday which went into some detail about the Malta campaign. They said that the three Gladiators "Faith", "Hope", and "Charity" did not hold out against the entire Italian Mediterranean airforce....................there were infact eighteen Gladiators !!
