~S~ Kev and Rox,
Looks like a fantastic place to wander around. I really liked the pic of you two jumping from rock to rock and the one of Rox on the overhang.

~S~ Swep m8,
What can I say, really excellent pictures
The Sea Fury pic makes makes my arm hairs stand up as they did when it flew past at the show.
JP: PL344 (my Spit) was featured on a TV show called "Monster Moves" this week which showed it being crated up at Duxford and being shipped over to its owner in the States during 2010.
Rog: That lady asked if I would like to by a raffle ticket for £2. I said I would buy one for £1 if the price included a cuddle. I got both ! LOL
Thanks again Swep !

Arthur m8, you can "lurk" around in a FW until we complete the flypast then I could call "20 seconds!" if you like : )
Why do you want to shoot holes in uncle Fruitbat ?? LOL
~S~ P.
Because realistically it's about the only way I'll ever manage to shoot him down, lol.
Great idea, this anniversary celebration. I'll be there.
1) uncle, wtf. I think you mean nephew you old git, Mick.
2) Arthur, i've flown once in the last 2 months, i can assure you i am now officially classed as excrement, if you want to shoot me down, now is the time, lol.
~S~ Great uncle Kev,
Don't be so sensitive !! It was only meant as a term of endearment sweetheart .
No complaints here as I am "old" and I am without doubt a "git " !! LOL
However........it has been a bit of a surprise to see (thanks to FT) just HOW ugly I have become .
Maybe I should change my call sign to UOG Painless !

~S~ Fine fellows,
Our very own Friar suggested that we should celebrate the DDz 7th anniversary.
After some group discussions at Duxford we have come up with this...
On SUNDAY 24th JULY @ 7.00pm Dogz time there will be a gathering of as many DDz (old and new) as possible on Friars server.
We will have a couple of massive TB3 fights followed by a quick flypast of six IL2s. A few words will be spoken by the "BOSS" and then we will fly some coops.
Please try to attend if you can chaps even if you have not flown with us for a while ! ALL WELCOME !
Game version will be 410.1m
Provisional IL2 crews are as follows....
PILOT.......................................GUNNER............................AIRCRAFT
Fooltrottle.............................Artie (Res Pilot)........................Pink 6
Sid........................................ Crash ....................................Pink 4
BluBear.................................Fruitbat (Res Pilot).....................Pink 2
Painless (FL)............................Jabo.......................................Pink 1
.
Fenrir.....................................Zooly.......................................Pink 3
Pooka....................................B16ENK...................................Pink 5
If anyone cannot make it for whatever reason please let me know asap and I will ask for a stand in .
Hope to see you all there chaps.

~S~ BluBear m8,
That is pretty much what we though happened after seeing the first full video clip of the crash.
What an incredibly cool customer !
I noticed that he referred to the Frenchie as "the other gentleman" LOL

~S~ Kelly,
Once again THANK YOU ! m8.
See you at.............................................................RENO
~S~ Mick.

~S~ FT you bugger !
I have a suggestion.............. keep Sid in the background by all means BUT do try and find him a companion that doesn't look quite so much like an Orangutan !!
BTW your "Horsemen" video is excellent ! I like the part where we hear you say "OH CRAP !" and at the end, "OH WELL"
~S~ Goodlooksless.

What gives the location away is that its been purposely blurred to prevent closer inspection of the property, all secret government sites do this. You can make out the white road system, appears like a queens crown.
Pooka
~S~ Pooka m8,
I think that you and Kelly have it nailed !

~S~ Chaps,
I have seen the more complete video and I have to say that the Frenchie , when it came to his turn to break from the vic ( he was on the left so by the standard method adopted by all of the other vics in the Balbo he broke high and left 2 seconds after the leader ) he banked way to much ! He was at 90deg as opposed to 60deg when banking so he turned inside the leading Mustang (BB Doll) !
The Skyraider should have gently turned left onto downwind a safe distance behind BB Doll but unfortunately converged with it mid air while still turning left to get onto downwind.
That said he did a fantastic job to recover and land
What do you think ?

~S~ Bombardiers !!
Well as I always like to say............ it was a bloody terrible weekend with nothing but boring old airplanes to watch wandering all over the sky (especially the Skyraider ), uninteresting company, dull conversation, no laughter and absolutely no fun !!!
CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR !!!
Among the many many best moments for me in no particular order were..............
Meeting the chaps.
Being called a "GIT" by Sweper
Telling the chap in the Duxford ticket office that the two foriegn guys, (Swep and FT) in the Citroen behind me were illegal immigrants and that they had a boot (trunk) full of cannabis.
Hearing that the P51 pilot "walked away"
Watching the Royal Navy Sea Fury "369" blast past at low level which gave me a small but conservative bowel movement !
The P38
Having the hairs on my arms stand on end due to engine noises and the visuals.
Trying to sing the DDz anthem a little drunk in the hotel.
Sid's bike.
Discussing the relative virtues of the "larger woman" with Tom
and so many more........................
Favorite quote
While we were in the pub on Saturday trying for around 30 minutes to sort out what we were going to eat, drinking, collecting individual orders, drinking, changing our minds on what type of food to have, drinking some more, collecting individual orders, drinking, revising individual orders, then just settling for 14 x cod and chips............CRASH looked up and said...."you couldn't write this shit!"

~S~ Colin m8,
I think it would have sounded better if maybe just Tom and Chris had sung it but it sure did impress that "hen" party !! LOL

Had a really great time and look forward to flying with you in the near future.
Bang On! Huzzah!
Hey PapaBear baby !!
Really great to meet you M8 and looking forward to going "up tilly up up and down tilly down down" with you and all of the other magnificent men in their flying machines
BANG ON !!............
Cheers, Mick.

~S~ Sir Jimbo,
Glad to hear you guys got together .
Pooka and Mrs Pooka are what we call "diamond geezers" !!
Pook also brought a tear to my eye last year......... but that was just a well aimed kidney punch
Take care Jim,
~S~ Painless.

Teaser for those who haven't been before... well, even if you have it'll get your juices flowing!
~S~ Tom,
Great little glimpse of what is to come, made me go all weak at the knees !
It says.... "there will be thunder" and "there will be lightning" and from what I've seen on Metcheck there may well be bloody rain to go with it !!
Saturday afternoon still looks to be the best option though

To be honest i've got on ok with UP3 so far, it installed ok and in general runs ok.
I do the same as Jabo, and have seperate installs for different versions of IL2 and this has worked out well for me.
Currently I have UP3, 4.101 (ModAct) and good old UP2 just in case! (Plus a stock 4.101 vanilla)
However, when it comes to playing co-ops I agree that we have to fly a version that is stable for everybody, and this last week has proved that not everyone is having such a smooth time of it.
We have to remember that UP3 is still a release candidate and many of the bugs experienced are being worked on for the final release, whenever that may be!
There does seem to be a lot bugs that are affecting mission building/conversions from 4.09, which is particularly worrying.
I for one am willing to give the UP team the benefit of the doubt and continue to trial version 3, because I like what it has to offer.
BUT, I absolutely agree that for the time being we should stick with what is best for the majority, and if that is 4.101, then so be it!
~S~ Chaps,
That pretty much sums it "UP" for me to
A thought (ouch)....I wonder if there is any connection between the way folks have their various installs of IL2 and problems with UP3.0RC3 ?
I have two separate installs : UP3.0RC3 and "vanilla" 410.1m.
No problems (so far)!
What do you guys have ?
