    Thanks for the offer Nick m8, I will bear that in mind !:thumbsu:

    I have switched the GPU for the spare and I now have a working computer again : )

    On the first start up "new hardware found" and install wizard came up as expected so I uninstalled all of the old Nvidia components, restarted and then tried to install the latest Nvidia driver (version 280.26)

    I got this fail message:

    Only the Graphics Driver seems to have installed not the other components ??

    I tried re downloading and installing again, no joy.

    I must have done something wrong somewhere so can anyone help me out please ?

    Hey Todd,

    Will do that tomorrow evening because I have had a few "medicinal" Bacardi pour Homme mit der Coke und zee ice .

    Got to work nights on Thursday/Friday so flying will have to wait until the weekend at the earliest If all goes well.

    Hmm...we are talking about Painless here....I vote Alien incursion and prescribe a tinfoil hat. (sorry painless, thought a bit of levity might be in order).

    I have a couple of good GPU's soon to be in a drawer (HD5850) that I would loan you but shipping across the pond would make it pointless.

    Actually I have been surprisingly calm about the whole thing so far (most out of character) but that could all change if the GPU swap does not work .Can't even kick the dog because he would bit me !! LOL

    The worse thing is not being able to fly with the boyz this evening dam it.

    Thanks for the quick response Rog, Jeddi, Brando :thumbsu:

    The card is an Nvidia 8800GTX and is about 3 years old. I have a spare 8800GTX so I will change them over and see what happens : )

    Not sure if this helps but the machine is about 5 years old, 4 months ago it had............. 750W power supply , 4G of Corsair ram and a better fan on the GPU.

    I have had no problems since the upgrade other than a change in voice volume issue with TS3.

    I was just on TS with you guys (Tuesday) and suddenly my game computer crashed with strange anomalies on screen and a loud staccato noise in my headphones replacing your voices.

    It was frozen with no mouse and no Ctrl / Del so I did a "cold reboot" and when it started up I had graphic anomalies during the Windows XP start up screens and then a very wierd screen as attached below :-

    I have rebooted it several times and the same thing happens.

    HELP !! :(

    I had the same thought about the Defiant and the Do17. I wonder if any of the chaps have an idea ?

    Storage.....mmmm I'm thinking that an attractive vertical display cabinet + at least 3 new summer dresses for Siobhan might be the only way to sell the idea :devil:

    After long deliberations I have decided that over the next few years I'm going to build all of the major participants in the Battle of Britain in 32nd scale.

    Made a start yesterday by purchasing the Revell Ju88 A-1, (great value at £40). Wingspan is 571mm so at least I can see the parts with my "old man's eyes" LOL

    The cockpit detail is fantastic accounting for 125 parts !

    Will be asking for a compressor and airbrush for Christmas. " Please Siobhan can I have a high pressure precision fluid squirting machine ? " :thumbsu:

    I'll post pics of progress : ) It's great to return to a bit of serious modelling.

    Looking forward to seeing this. What scale was it again ?

    Did you say you were going to use aerosol paint ?

    I'm interested in seeing what kind of finish you get because I really want to get back into building (probably 32nd scale) aircraft myself. :D

    Funny how the price of say a Tamiya 32nd scale Spit is just as expensive as an Airfix 24th scale Mossie :huh:

    Count me in for the "full monty" including a few days away afterwards visiting all of the historic brothels in Holland (at least I think that's what FT suggested ? )

    JP: Funny how you also remember which year to come visit us using simple maths. I always just think "even year, odd chap visiting" simples ! :laughing7:

    Seriously, we could start thinking about some kind of battlefield / airfield tour in England or on the continent.:thumbsu:

    Way back in 2005 when we did Joint-Ops intermediate Pilot School together you were a larger than life character. Now you have created a larger than life squad which reaches way beyond the normal bounds of a gaming community.

    Here , thanks to your "Canine Creation" I to have found many excellent friends who I am always glad to spend time with in the real world whenever the chance arises.

    I personaly owe you a huge debt of gratitude for all the thousands of hours of fun online and the chance to talk to guys who I would never have got to know without the DangerDogz.

    Thank you all for turning up to join in with our little celebration. We had 21 souls on TS :thumbsu:

    As you know it was as much about saluting Jim as anything else which we did in our own particular DDz style (with the odd cock up LOL )

    Great fun messing about in TB3's a splendid DDz tradition.

    Thank you Colin for reading the DDz prayer. I'm sorry it was difficult my friend, but we all felt the same way. :goodjob:

    What a bloody awful thing to happen !

    I just saw the BBC news and it seems that a 32 year old white Norwegian male, (Anders Behring) who is a "right wing Christian" is responsible for both incidents. What an evil bastard !

    They are confirming at least 92 dead : (

    My deepest sympathies to all of the families and friends.
