  1. I could be wrong, but I don't think any of us have experience with the UP2.0 dedicated server.

I plan to set one up and test it in the coming weeks, if possible. I will report back whatever progress I make.

Does anyone happen to know if 2.0 includes the moving dogfight maps, or is that still in the experimental stage?

  2. Have you tried running chkdsk /r from the command prompt Glenn? It's a quick and dirty way of checking the disk for bad sectors (and repairing them) - might help to provide a pointer to your issue.

Nope, but I will do that next!

  3. That error means the HDD on it's way out, usually, and as GEC said there are utilities available that will test and report the drive for you.

What make/model is the Drive Glenn (you can get this info from device manager under the disk drives bit).

WD and Seagate/Maxtor do a drive fitness utility that runs within windows.

You may find the disk is still under warranty too, Maxtor/Seagate are 3 or 5 years..you can usually look up the warranty status on their sites.

The drive was the original from Dell. I will have to pull it out and take a look at what they see.

  4. dl the ubcd i have uploaded, burn it and boot winxp from it. there is a lot of tests u can do there. if everything is working the it is not hw problem u have.

Crap! I had made a note of doing that when you first posted about it, and like so much else, it get sucked out of my brain.

  5. Just a follow up to this thread.

Having played it for what it most likely the last time last night, I cannot recommend Call of Duty World at War, at least for multi-player, AT ALL.

I tried to like this game, I really did, and there are good things to recommend it, but one major thing kills it for Multi-player, and I primarily buy these games for MP.

Bottom line, the spawning in the game is #%$^& ridiculous, for two reasons.

One, you often spawn in the open, and within range of the enemy, sometimes RIGHT in front of him.

Two, spawning is too random, meaning areas you just cleared might have enemy pop in right after.
