  1. I think there's enough DD's and HH's who do the full switch on HL (boy enough acronyms?) regularily to get us through the navigating. I mean, if we can find a bar at 2 in the morning in a strange city while being three sheets to the wind, surely we can follow the compass. Course we find things better drunk, but that won't be an issue on Friday - be sure!
  2. ok, I am brainless these days...too busy dealing with all the kids in the hotel (spring break here). Victoria has one of the filthiest harbours in North America (untreated sewage is pumped right into it) and I had kids jumping off of our docks, swimming in the muck, then running into the hotel hot tub to warm up and clean off - all to the delight of their parents. Yum...can you say Tetnus shot? Anyway, Painless - thanks I'll share with you those two days, then move to the bird man's on Sunday! Rog: just lay out some papers on the floor and I'll be fine! Oh, and that Brittour link has an amazing tour of Normandy...don't have $5000 for the top one, but the second one looks quite reasonable.
  3. Hey Colin: Was hoping to share with someone (even to pass out on a floor) as it is a bit expensive to come from the far side of the country over...so to split room cost would help. Is there an 'opening' for a share?
  4. Ok, once done with Duxford this July, I'd like to maybe visit Normandy - specifically Juno beach. How difficult is it to get there from the Cambridge area? General thought right now is to do Duxford, sober up after everyone leaves and make my way to London.
  5. where'd you order it from? I finally decided to take the TIR plunge.
  6. LOL - I can just imagine this being told by Dave Allen.
  7. Nice... Your guy did an great job - as did both of you on the 'raw goods'. When I used to live in Kitchener/Waterloo, we were close to a huge Mennonite community. The most amazing tradespeople ever.
  8. Not entirely true...I've always wanted to be a lesbian.
  9. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.
  10. The DD's respond by lining up to 'comfort' poor sister Wendy.
  11. I'm sure you've all see variations of this one...but I still like it. Are you a Liberal, a Conservative or an Albertan? Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock 40 caliber and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ................................................................ THINK CAREFULLY!...AND THEN SCROLL DOWN Liberal
  12. LOL...your brother looks like one of the living dead from Dawn of the Dead...
  13. ROTFL! Well done BG. Best laugh I've had ever from your amazing humour... Thanks for the laugh of the day bud.
  14. looks great... I'd love to start getting back into modelling with my boys...but boy are they expensive now... $25 for a simple 1/32 scale plane... BG by the way does modelling.
  15. To you similarily near-middle-agers like me from the UK: Who is David Watts? there is an old Kinks song written by Ray Davies called "wish I could be like David Watts". Just found some of my old, old Kinks recordings - including my favourite live album of theirs - and came across this song. Any idea chaps?
  16. Oh yes, I remember fondly being in this situation 2 years back. Me in Victoria and wife and computer in Ottawa. My wife couriered it out in a regular cardboard box... Arrived with the case broken and lots of little pieces jingling around inside. Go to a Kinko's or place like that and have them package and courier it...safer - and cheaper in the long run.
  17. "June 3 1942 Continued patrol. It has 6 days since last enemy contact. The Coxswain's wound from his fall has festered and I fear we shall need to return to base to seek medical attention. LOL - sounds like a Dubbo mission.
  18. wait a moment...do I then yell out "check seven!" on Sunday if a flyer is from North America and "check six" if from the UK? These changing times are confusing.
  19. How about an article about how all hot chicks love guys who fly IL2?
  20. very nice... Here's a little shot of our marina that is part of 'my' hotel. Only a 42 slip marina. I feel so inadequate now...thanks.
  21. Holy Sheet! look at those explosions.
