  1. thanks guys...was fun.

     twenty seconds, sheep, Painless' awkward advances, nonsensical violent threats...just like old times.

    was great to see so many familiar names.   and familiar unintelligible accents.

    off for work tomorrow for a week , but should be able to join next Sunday.  will have bodenplate by then.   maybe consider airstarts for just the Sunday till i can get game better figured.

    look forward.

    @JP;  as a general rule of thumb,  all those things in IL2 1946 that we paid lip service to - like trimming the plane properly,  correct mixture settings,  not over-revving the engine,  not over-heating the engine, supercharger switching  etc.  They all really matter in this new one.

    Otherwise shortly after take off engines go boom and up goes the cry "twenty seconds"!:P

    uhh...then let me off this ride.   lol

  3. when's flying times again?

    (I can hear Jabo roll his eyes from across the pond cause he's only told me 20 times)

    i have a bunch of spare time Saturday so going to try to get game going.  and it's -20 here so i'm avoiding going out

    TrackIR and pedals are working.   finally got stick working for yaw/pitch/roll.    have to figure out the other 300 keys now.

  4. wow guys...the new game's going to tax my puny little brain.

    Delta - you shared your X52 settings.   Can i copy/paste the ddbox.pro file in the game itself to bind the keys?

    there are of course like a 100% more than in the old il2 to tackle.  how best to make use of the excel file as well?

    thanks guys...and bear with me please.

    Hello Mobius.  Good to see you:salute:.  We use Team Speak 3 and hopefully someone will be along shortly to give you the details.

    JP and yourself should check out Sid's thread on X52 set up here;

    and perhaps have a look through this thread;

    and even this one;

    We are using Mods.  However,  mods in the IL2 Great Battles series are nothing like mods were in '46.  Two different game engines completely that handle the concept of mods in entirely different ways.

    What's a "Sid"?   sounds sketchy

  6. so premium version...got it.

    still on TS?

    if someone has a good profile for an X52, please share as well...

    i've a shitload of travel coming up starting tomorrow, but back home mid-Jan so will get back in the air then.

    for a blast from the past, Cold_Gambler and I met up in Ottawa a few years back.  had some beers.   he's doing well.

    look forward to chatting.  Rarely has a month gone by that I haven't thought of you guys.   Mind you, usually while googling "porn hub" and "sheep" together...but still

  7. hello gentlemen and sheep-lovers...(ok, just sheep lovers here I know...I was trying to be polite)

    finally managed to get a new freaking computer and a bit more time on my hands so promise I'll be returning soon if you're still flying.

    and if you are - kindly direct me to the latest release etc.

    Hope you guys are all great and doing well.

    Even Painless.

  8. Hey gang.

    Hope you're all well.  Still thinking of you all.  Especially Painless.  Sweet, sweet tender Painless.

    Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and let you know I met up with Cold_Gambler a couple weeks back in Ottawa.  Angus is doing well and says to say hi.  Like me, he wants to get back to flying one day...but like me, talks mores than does.

    Creepily, he hasn't aged a day since I last saw him - years back when I stopped through Toronto to see BG in his forest mansion hideway.  I suspect he is part of some cult that drinks the blood of virgins to stay young our something.  He wasn't happy when I stabbed with with a sharpened crucifix.  I might have been over reacting.

    Planning on being out there for Duxford.  Bringing Jensen (of Jensnpark fame) out to celebrate his high school grad.  He was just 4 when I first stumbled upon BG and Angus way way back.  time flies I tell you.

    Will make sure I drop in more often.

  9. FYI Kelly, here's the hotel we're using - http://www.expresscambridge.co.uk/

    Show dates are 9th & 10th July

    Tickets have to be purchased in advance here (no tickets available on the gate) - http://www.iwm.org.uk/events/iwm-duxford/airshows

    (I fear making this public. I have nightmares of Mick at the airport in a beret and a horizontal white/black striped shirt yelling at the top of his lungs "Monseiur Kelly! Monseiur Kelly! Over here! " )

    I assume the nightmare is that if he's ONLY wearing a beret and a stripey shirt. lol

    Well, wearing more than just a beret is a step up for Mick.

  10. Yes...will be lovely to get reacquainted with you lovely gents.

    Malta will be fun. In meetings for most of it but am hoping to get to some of the war sites...

    Any chance anyone might be around London on March 12? I need a ride from the airport to downtown please.

    Will also come out for Duxford this year with my oldest, Jensen.

    racking up the miles with the new job.  20k miles just in January.  yay  (sarcastic 'yay')

  12. wow...amazing.  I still remember my first words on line to you guys:  "hurry up and press ready you dumb son of a b...."

    And to celebrate, I've decided to go to London in mid-March

    March 12 for 3 days, then off to Malta for 3 days.

    time will be limited - but will any of you clowns be around? (London that is...I don't expect to see you in Malta)
