  1. Yes, it was good hearing the m8s voice again. Although he came in about the time Arthur was trying to get a carrier ops mission in and having to restart several times because the Tempest just isn't very good at carrier take offs even when the carrier is going as fast as it could go. Then after we finally switched to another mission, about the time Arthur would hit the Fly button, we would get a new m8 joining in. So we would restart. Did that a couple times. Then Emann was having technical difficulties and that took a while to sort out. But for hanging around for a couple hours, the m8 did get three or four missions. It was good to fly with him again. I hope he starts joing in more often.
  2. Great Rog. Glad they did you right.
  3. Golf? I'll never understand the enjoyment one gets from smacking a little white ball around and chasing it for a couple miles. I tried it once. Actually dug a new sand pit on the driving tee trying to hit the damn thing. I ended up just picking the damn ball up and throwing it where I wanted it to go, which at the time was beside a swimming pool with alot of half naked women hanging around.

    What a babe!

Yea, one should be able to do this. It would just be a matter of sharing the pertinent files, of which I have no idea which ones they would be. But, it should be figurable.

    What a babe!

What I like about DCG is that it a dynamic in nature. Our actions affect our progress of moving the front lines. That in essence kinda makes each mission a bit more immersive knowing our performance directly correlates to victories and defeats. Keeping in mind it is the ground war that truly gets the front lines moving, each mission would be more about a) protecting the ground pounders in order for them to desimate the enemy's ground forces, & shooting down as many of the enemys bombers before they have a chance to reach our ground forces. This puts a whole new spin to actually winning the day. Yes plane sets don't change much, but this is as it was. Nothing wrong with setting up a DCG campaign to run a bit before switching over to other missions. The one Dave mentions that I had setup was probably the most fun I have had in a dynamic campaign ever. This would definately give us reason to actually use the other rooms as we do when Glen cranks up the mission maps he has created from time to time. And it would be good to choose a side and stick to it whenever a DCG campaign that is in progress is being flown. Just my nickel. Quazi
  6. LOLOLOLOLOLOL Very True Roger.
  7. I must say I had great fun yesterday and am looking forward to Thursday.
  8. Damn. I know I posted somewhere as to what affiliation I would like to fly for tomorrow. But it damn sure wasn't in the correct thread no doubt. Anyway m8s, sad but true, I will not be able to participate. You see, my son broke his hand on Monday during football practice this week, and I thought for sure he would be sidelined so I had no plans on attending his ball game Friday night. But wouldn't you know it, these days, the doctors can put a superduper cast on his hand\wrist\arm so it can't be used as a weapon during the game, nor will it allow any more damage to the broken bone. And guess what, the little bugger is going to start both ways tomorrow night with a broken hand. He wanted to be heavily medicated because of the pain he is in. But I told him if he was dumb enough to play with a broken hand, he can endure the pain it takes to do it. Too hard on him? Nah. If he was making millions playing professional football, hell yea, it would be expected of him. But for a high school football team whose coach just views him as a huge piece of meat that gets the job done, no way. I'd tell him to go whizz hisself. But not my son. Eh, he knows the team needs him to play his positions. Bottomline is that the young man is very good at what he does. He has been playing this game for 10 years, and this is his last hoorah it being his senior season and all. Besides that, if he were medicated, he may end up getting another bone broke. I told him I would have his pain meds with me so if it was too bad straightway after the game, I would hook him up. But it is an away game and we have a 2 hour drive just to get to this little bumfuc TN town somewhere southwest of here right close to the TN\Alabama stateline. So have at it m8s. Have fun. I do want to see all his ball games. But this is killing me not being able to participate.

  10. Awesome DF m8s. Was truly fun to watch and educational too boot! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Still experiementing. 150 for both right now. Rockets on 1000.
  12. Join in with the HH anyone that wants some Saturday evening flying. It's been real light and laid back here lately, so don't expect a bunch. Hell, what am I talking about? We don't have enough m8s to call it a bunch, HEHEHEHEEH
  13. No m8. I sold it a while back But you do have some options. If the 9600 you had was adequate, meaning you were half-asses pleased with the graphics and performance, then a 9800Pro or 9800XT would be a good bump for you. These cards can be had really cheap on eBay, say $50 to $60 for the Pro and a little more for the XT. For another $100 you could put yourself in an X800Pro. Now this would be a massive bump for you. It seems that AGP cars are really holding their value these days as there are alot of people still using AGP and taking advantage of those changing over to PCI-E by picking up their old AGP cards. But since no manufacturer is hardly releasing AGP cards, their prices on eBay seem to run a bit higher than their PCI-E counter-parts. nVidia is releasing the AGP card I ran, the 7800GS, and the manufacturers are all releasing their overclocked versions of it. But you will pay a premium for a retail overclocked 7800GS in AGP. And for the same $300 plus, you could put yourself in a 939-pin mobo, a 3200+\3500+, and an X850XT in PCI-E: http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant ... ode=AMD939 http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant ... Code=AMD64 http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant ... =ATI-PCI-E Those three components there total to around $340. You can use your current memory(because it is DDR), HD's, cd-rom, case, sound card (if you have one). Plus take into consideration what you can resell the parts you have. So it looks like you could have a $200 dollars invested and have up to datre hardware and a video card that kicks ass. Instead of spending the same amount or more on just an AGP video card. Just something to mull over. I will be glad to help facillitate to upgrade by offering to resell your current components through my eBay account. I will be gald to help you in any way you need me to m8.
  14. Just a reminder for those interested, MEPs for the Aug. IL-2 BFS is July 30th which is a Saturday and classes start the following Wednesday. Plenty of time to submit an application and sign up for the Aug. class.
  15. Yea, me too. Second one I will be missing also. Sucks! But there was mention of "MAYBE" having to move it to the 4th. If that happens, then I will definately be there.
  16. Well, reformatting as much as I have before making a mobo change required me to call in and get Windows activated each time. After installing the new mobo and reinstalling Windows, it activated all by itself. Really strange. Of all the hardware upgrades one can make to cause one to reformat, installing a new mobo is, in the eyes of Microsoft, cause for one to purchase another copy of Windows as they consider it a new build\computer. So I wasn't expecting my copy of Windows to activate. Actually, because of what Rog posted above, I was expecting to call in for a new activation code and be told I had to purchase a new copy of Windows because there had been a major hardware change in my system. But it wasn't and I am not complaining. That just saved me 15 or 20 minutes on the phone with someone from India trying to communicate and understand each other. And with any luck, my reformatting so often is over. Hopefully, I will be able to go back to my every 6 months clean install routine.
  17. Anyone interested in a eVga 7800 GS CO Superclock in AGP? I can't give it away, but if anyone is going to stay with AGP for at least another 6 months to a year, or more, I can sure cut one of my K9 m8s a deal. If you already have a 6800GT or Ultra, or an X800\X850 Pro, XT, or XTPE, it wouldn't be worth the upgrade, unless you are into FPS games that take advantage of the newer shader techology. But if you are in anything less than those cards mentioned, and have a CPU speed equivalent of at least an Intel 2.6GHz, or AMD 64 3000 (1.8GHz), it would be a tremendous upgrade. If you are running an X800\850 and are curious to the performance differences, the main difference I saw was being able to run the water on 2 without affecting fr's hardly any, and seeing alot higher fr's when around alot of ships letting loose. My BD scores were a little over 2fps faster in the Avg FR's and the Minimum FR's were up a little. It is also very condusive to running the resolutions higher than the X850\800's are without taking a huge hit in FR's. This is short notice, as I will be listing it along with my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum 939-pin mobo on eBay this evening. But if you read this today and have questions, ask away. It is an awesome card and performed flawlessly while I had it. The only difference between this card and the fastest most technogically advanced AGP card on the market, which is the eVga 7800 GS KO Superclock, are clock speeds. And this card runs those speeds comfortably, well under its max capable overclocked speeds. Just wanted to make the offer to you m8s first. I'd much rather save any of you guys alot of $$$ rather than a stranger on eBay. Plus, I know it is a good card, already proven in this sim and a couple other titles.
  18. If any of you guys are considering a new build in the future, you will be selling yourselves short if you don't give DFI a shot. I, not being the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to bios settings, was a bit intimidated with DFI and especially after going to their forums and reading all the rigamaroar some of those guys were dealing with (bad boards and all). But after speaking with Joe @ magnum, as he builds rigs daily, he informed me that DFI had no more problems than any other mobo maker and as a matter of fact they had less than most, and after speaking with Clarke about his experiences building his wifes' rig using a DFI board, plus the fact that Rog was very satisfied with his, I decided to go with DFI in my quest for a non-crashing system. And man am I glad I did! Without a doubt, it is the cadilac of mobo's. Of course they do require a but of special attention as they come from the factory with settings for higher ended compnents. I had to restart the reformatting\reinstall prcess for Windows four times as I kept getting BSODs at the point where Windows was about to reboot for the last time after reinstalling. A different error message for each one. Calling Clarke past midnight on Friday night put me over the hump as in his research in setting up his wifes' rig, he came across a thread at the DFI forums that went in depth into the values of different settings in the bios for those having troubles completing a fresh Windows install. After reading the settings off to me and changing them as he went, Windows loaded and this mobo hasn't hickupped once. The difference in the VGA cards as far as performance isn't enough to explain the increase in benchmarks and game performance. I have to give DFI a big reason for such great performance increases. I played for nearly 6 hours last night and all went superbly. In game fr's were 10fps to 15fps more at any given time in any given mission. This was totally unexpected by me as I knew the difference between the 7800 GS CO Superclock and the 7900GT KO Superclock isn't capable of causing this increase on its' own. I figured the difference in card specs would equate into a 5fps to 8fps increase across the board in game and this was what I was expecting. But there were times in certain missions that I noticed being nearly 20fps faster. Attacking ships that were blasting away was one area I noticed this in. Another is when spawning onto an airfield in a coop with alot of lanes ahead of me. Were I would be seeing fr's in the mid 30's with the other mobo\card combo, I had fr's in the mid 50's. And the jump in performance difference between those two cards just can't account for that. So please do give DFI some serious consideration if you are planning a build in the future. You have the support you need right here in the K9 Squadrons if you have any issues getting it setup and humming right along. All I know right now, is that I wish it was flight time with the Dogz today. But I still have 6 hours to wait, HEHEHEHEHEHE  :!: :!: :!:
  19. Yea, it certainly does. Intel rode in the back seat to AMD for so long when it came to gaming chips. I think it is time for Intel to take the wheel now and for AMD to sit back and kick its' feet up. Nevertheless, and even if I had the $$$ to build and new rig with this Intel cpu, I believe I will just kick my feet up with AMD as well. I am sure they have something under their sleeves they are working on to give this new Intel cpu a run. When they will announce and release it is another matter though.
  20. Spent the day with the wife yesterday, and probably for the best as you guys had a full load. But I want to remind everyone of the "whisper" function in the TS client that could help the talking on top of each other. I know it would just be more to map, but this feature may come in handy to be able to get pertinent information to a particular m8 in the heat of battle when alot of m8s are speaking.
  21. I have been using a similar program called ProcessExplorer. These are excellent little progys that let you see what is running at all times. And yea BA, it should be relatively safe as it is just a program to relays pertentent info about what is running in the background at all times. Thanks Rog!
  22. The majority of us are able to run this sim on Perfect landsacpe and high eye candy settings now. I would say SOW-BoB will have these m8s on excellent settings a lower eye candy detail. I know a dual core cpu will be a big plus for BoB, as well as at least 2GB memory and one of the higher ended cards form ATI or nVidia. Most here probable have bios upgrades that will allow for dual core usage, and mobos capable of 2GB. And those like myself with an AGP mobo, will probably need to get the 7800 GS CO for a video card. So what I am saying is that I belive one may get by pretty well by just doing a few upgrades to their existing rig rather than a brand new build. I know my Nforce 3 mobo can run dual core cpus as well as 2GB ram. And I already have the 7800 GS. Those with PCI-E mobos will have the advantage of being able to run the really higher ended video cards. And if you already have a SLI mobo, then the addition of a dual core cpu and another video card in SLI will probably set you up well. At any rate, I belive most of us will be able to run BoB well enough with a few upgrades vs. a new build.

    TrackIR

I gave TIR3 a shot last year and had alot of trouble setting up some kind of dead zone. I would start a flight and before it was over with I was having to contort my head far away from its' original take off position just to land and the crik in the ol' neck was a pain to deal with. So I sold it. I even experienced a bit of nausea from the movements but I believe alot of this could be eliminated if I wasn't flying with my head cocked sideways. Since we have a resident guru that writes reveiws for TIR and in their appreciation has hooked him up, I may give it another shot and ask Dave to help me get it setup properly.
  24. Shit VT. I hate to hear it. To date I have made well over 40 purchases for some very expensive computer components over the last couple years and have never had a problem with any of them. Video cards, cpus, Audigy 2's, even my first entry level water cooling Kingwin setup. Really sucks you are having issues. Do what Waldo Pepper suggests and check you bios to see if the game port is enabled. I always disable mine and any other port I don't plan on using. I do hope you get those pedals squared away m8. If I knew I could use a set and not cause me any more back issues than I already have, I would purchase a set in a sec. As far as your eBay purchase goes? Does the person have a good feedback? If so, they may refund your $$$ in order to head off a negative feedback that they may think you will give them if they don't. Of course if the auction said no kind of warranty, then you may be sol. Although I have heard of eBayers doing the right thing. My criteria for doing business with another eBayer when making purchases is to preferrably purchase from someone with a 100% feedback rating. Not that anything less than 100% ond above 97% are any worse than the other, but you can rest assured they have worked hard at keeping a perfect feedback rating and will do what it takes to keep it that way. And if I am dealing with someone with less than a 100% feedback rating, even if it is a 98% or higher, I always read the negative feedbacks because there is no doubt that people can be real pricks to deal with at times and this person may have had a couple of these in the past. You can tell once you read the negative feedback that was left. And last but not least, I prefer someone with more than 30 transactions. This kinda sets up a track record for them. Just wanted to share the secrets to my sucess in purchasing from eBay sellers. Myself? At this time I have had 64 transactions and have a 100% feedback rating, if anyone was curious. EDIT: We must have posted one right after another, HEHE. I am happy for you sir! ~S~
  25. Thanks TA. Jets were my first interest in ac long ago. Good pics. Nice camera m8.
