Mac, If you want to drop by tonight around 7pm GMT, you will be able to say hello to a lot of the Dogz. There is a match on with another group starting at 8pm which will last for an hour and a half. You might want to fly in that as a gunner. All you need to do is to make sure you have your mouse set up to Fire in Controls and you will be set. I think it would be far too tough for you to try and pilot a plane at this stage of your learning as they will be flying full switch which is too tough for me.

Hi Mac, Sounds like you are making great progress. You are correct. You will no longer need to have the disc installed to run the game. The mods contain the no CD/DVD crack we all use. The only time I run my TS server is Saturdays when I host coops for UBI Zoo Coops. Otherwise, we all use the Danger Dogz TS. Since you have posted this in the public area, I shouldn't post any information about the IP details but you can find them in the Welcome thread, plus the times we fly.

I would like to wait until you have your switcher finished and tested. Then perhaps some discussion and maybe a final poll vote. I think there might be some resistance and we need to air any concerns.

Having all three xp home, pro and Vista I would recommend sticking with XP for now and moving to Windows 7 as soon as it becomes available. I think the techies might recommend Vista but for me it is an unnecessary complication.

You are far from being dense Arsenal. I am the dense one. Here's why you need the switcher. I'll be hosting 4.09m with mods then a new Danger Dogz will show up and say " I don't have the mod pack installed yet and only have 4.08m installed" That means I have to stop hosting 4.09m modded and everyone has to switch to 4.08m. Or, we might fly against another group like the 69 GIAP and they don't like mods and will only fly 4.09 clean. Content wise the 352nd and the AAA are very similar but there are some differences in the maps for example, with the result that some players will spawn 100 ft above everyone else. They see things ok but it is a bit disconcerting for everyone else. The reason that

You can't install the AAA over the 352nd mod pack. They are separate installs. The AAA has to be installed over a clean 4.08m.

@ Arsenal. Yes, you will need the switcher m8. There is one in whatever option you chose; the 352nd or the AAA one. @ Lothar. Yes, the AAA jobbie has 4.09m in it as well.

Finally it works! That File Front download must be corrupted. When I first installed it on my desktop I did get some error messages but it worked. There were no error messages on the d/l from the vault.

I will try downloading from the vault for my next attempt. I think you are correct about it maybe being a Vista related issue Brando. Thought I would delete game and reinstall. It would not delete from add or remove or the uninstall game option even in safe mode. Finally got rid of it by deleting the UBI Soft folder and then running the DVD which picked up the remaining registry entries. Now reinstalling DVD.

Just tried a fresh download and a new install to an updated il2 4.08m . More corrupted files! Once last time then I think I will try the 352nd mod pack.

This does not bode well. I now have the switcher installed but something else has gone wrong. When I try to run it it says it can't find "version 4.09 standard or modded" even although everything seems to be in the folder. It is not imperative that I have it running on my laptop as it works fine on my desktop but I have to wonder how others are going to fare if we move to it.

I think I got a corrupt file download in one of the segments as well. No6RAR. The AAA switcher was missing on the install. I have downloaded a fresh one and will see if that corrects the issue.
