    Ssd Problems

Perplexing indeed. Have you tried a CMOS factory reset? The delights of RAID 0 where no parity exists, and either drive having issues will result in meltdown. http://knoppix.net/ has a disk test utility too, and is frequently updated. Have turned on SMART reporting in BIOS too?
  2. Nice! Loved this extra I saw on the page: So Adele is a slapper eh?! No wonder her songs are so depressing
  3. Salute BG, sadly missed.
  4. Signed Not that I have seen an issue personally, but then I have not used the programming part yet
  5. Some of those pigeons are worth a lot of money I recall!
  6. Tap F8 and try chkdsk c: /F as well. Rarely hurts Badgers and pigeons huh? We have a stray pussy. Do I win? Joking aside - the cat is emaciated, the sister of the owner is about to drop her first child (Wednesday) and the poor cat is nearly always out 24/7 fending off bobcats and other critters. She is so loved her name is 'Kitty' seriously...
  7. You have to actually use the PM within the forum software. Replying, as some do, to an email notifying you of a PM goes to the admin email account, which is a non existent account (it got too much spam and had little benefit). You can PM by clicking on the envelope icon top right, or by hovering over a users name in a post and clicking the pencil like icon too.

    #proud Dad

Congratulations Heather and Jessica! That time of year rolled around fast, and upwards and onwards for them both My youngest, Alix, had her first day ever in a US school yesterday, having been home schooled for a year. Despite the stress she summoned up the courage and walked through the door and started her day. Made some friends already, having a Brit accent helps - seems like most of the 1300 pupils at the school know of her already! Honors classes too for her - #ProudDad#2
  9. Got one system her not liking the upgrade, youngest daughters AMD FX60 equipped system (yes it really is that old yet Skyrim and Fallout 3 play perfectly on it ). Goes through the motions, on one of the reboots it gets stuck. Overnight even it still has that maddening whirly circle thing. Time to roll up my sleeves I guess!
  10. And the Wifi Sense thing, that shares your wifi with anyone on your facebook etc f they are in range?
  11. My Win10 upgrade was smooth as silk, 8.1 to 10 and so far perfect
  12. Suspect they will be doing as they did before, creating some sort of checksum type hash against key components (disk CPU etc) and using that to crate a password of sorts.
  13. Still waiting for mine to offer the upgrade, reserved but not yet available - the cascade has not got to me yet. Perplexing there is not a straight to 10 install path, using a Win 7 or 8 key though. Pain in the arse/ass that!
  14. I went from a Dell to a Lenovo laptop for work, would not touch a Dell again given the choice. The Lenovo Jabo linked looks like a steal at that price, although the 1Tb SSHD is a tad misleading (it is a hybrid - a true SSHD would cost as much as the laptop!). I got the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, about $1400 with touch screen and 2560 x 1440 resolution (and very usable at that res too) and Dolby sound!
  15. Damn. Wish I could have made it, never been so far away from an airshow as I am now (St Louis show was cancelled this year). Nice shots there Jade! Thanks for sharing
  16. Eldest daughter, Bella, taught herself to knit and then crochet. Realised there was a dearth of patterns for premature and low birth weight babies, so set about creating patterns and the items, photographing and documenting them and then writing a book. She was born 10 weeks early herself, and weighed a mere 3lbs, that gave her inspiration. Now been published on Amazon Kindle here: http://amzn.com/B011PU7L0K Took her a few months of dedicated graft, pretty good for an 18 year old
  17. I'm better trained than you, I get to push the cart (trolley) and follow. At least that is what I try to do, my wife has an uncanny knack (and one I suspect is shared by all of her species gender) of disappearing. So I end up doing the women shopping path thing trying to find her. Saves on a gym subscription, so I shouldn't complain. Helps pay for all that essential stuff she buys, I'm still working on how to determine what is essential, everything I pick seems to fall into the frivolous category...
  18. There was another report of a 30 year old father of two, thought it would be impressive to launch a firework off his chest. Impressive yes, but for entirely the wrong reasons, it was the last thing he did. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3153039/Postal-worker-30-dies-setting-firework-CHEST.html
  19. Which browser is he using? Try Firefox/Google Chrome/Opera and see if that allows printing? Vista has probably got an ancient version of Internet Explorer, it should be buried without ceremony really, got more holes in it than my cheese cloth briefs
