  1. How do u guys bench?

is it that start-fps show command or something?

    doh!

Judging from the format they are using FRAPS, a great utility from, well surprisingly :

    http://www.fraps.com

Well worth registering if you also want to capture longer length video.

  2. I experimented with the program sometime ago - but I didn't bother to make it a regular part of my routine. Mostly because I could not make it start my X-45 profile first .... bugger!

A batch file called by FS Auto start before it runs IL2 with the lines:

    @ Echo off

    COLOR 4f

Echo "Start your X45 Profile now or else"

    pause

call enter the path to IL2FB.exe here

That will remind you to start your profile and not start IL2 until you have pressed a key ;)

Does TrackIR need to be started before IL2?

    Edited 'cos I goofed :)[/i]

  3. memtest86 from http://www.memtest86.com, you can get an iso to create a bootable cd.

Once your system has passed that hurdle get:

Prime95 and run the blended torture test for as many hours as you can keep your hands off your new toy ;)

The install IL2FB and run Blackdeath for a couple of loops, it won't be any more than that as the draw to 'fly' will be too great!

  4. Yeah, lookin good! I like the gray and green as well. So are we going to have to re-register for the new one, or are our accounts transferrable as well?

Thats what the work was for!

No need to re-register, it will be as though there has been no change :)

Gray and green is my favourite too :)

  5. :lol::lol::lol:

New host is running mySQL 4, current host is running 4 and 5. (mySQL is the database into which all our posts, configuration and account details are stuffed).

mySQL 4 will not read mySQL 5 files so I had to work out how to export the data, thereby preserving all our posts etc.

Well I managed it in the end, took about 9 ours or so....

Results can be seen at http://www.dangerdogz.com/test/index.php :) But don't post there as it will be overwritten! (you can post of course but it will be futile

I'm now planning to migrate the forum there on Monday, there will be a 3 hour period whilst the re-direct takes effect.

Tomorrow I'm going to recommence the web page side of it....until I get to fly that is!

  6. My thoughts are with you James, good luck and I hope it goes well for you.

Ultimately we have to sort our priorities, otherwise we will get little comfort from indulging in those things we enjoy knowing we have neglected more important issues.

As a veteran of one failed marriage (in my case it was doomed from the outset) and now happily re-married I learnt how to get priorities right.

We will share with you gladly all screenshots, tracks and the odd (being the DD's it could only be odd :) ) movie.

Godspeed, and until you return fly with your 'co-pilot' well.

Thanks for your support too :)

    Rog.

  7. I think you are beyond help, beyond the community even

Oops, in my haste to create this section I omitted to set permissions.

Done, you should be able to start a topic now m8 :)

  8. Hi all. Woof!

I have secured our hosting for a year on a States-side host.

Currently this is on http://www.dangerdogz.com (don't worry my HH friends it will become k9squadrons.com when I'm ready to transfer to it) and comes with some nice additional features.

Amongst the features are things like double the monthly bandwidth, now 100Gb, unlimited anonymous ftp and some neat server side image maniupulation tricks that we will make use of in our screen shots pages.

I have already got the forum skeleton up, this will have the data (all our posts) imported when ready.

For now you can view the style Here you can of course register and post, but they will be lost when I copy this lot across.

We will have a choice of email addresses too, either @dangerdogz.com or @k9squadrons.com

These will have to be set up by myself, but once done you set the password to one of your choice.

I will be able to reset passwords if they get lost/forgotten.

This host allows browsing of folders in IE/Firefox too, although our web pages will incorporate browsing any way.

  9. Again artwork for the above categories would be good, and help much appreciated as this has taken up a lot of time for Jeremy and I. I've enjoyed it though! :)

Okay, to both test it out and because I wanted the skin available for use, I uploaded a Nightfighter skin for Mosquito IV's by SeaNorris. I got it from Flying Legends. http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.php?id=3353. I included the author name on the JPG image. Is this kinda what you had in mind?

BTW, for those of you flying this Thursday, you might want to download this skin and put it in your skin folder for the Mosquito. I am using it for two of the missions we will be flying.

    SN_MosquitoFB_YPU.jpg

    [/img]

That's great - just what we are looking for.

Good idea to put authors name on jpg too :)

Screenshot from mission is also a good idea, if you have any other screenshots that we may be able to use on the web pages themselves, although Arsenal does keep coming up with original images....!! :)

  10. Artwork

Yup I need some artwork now guys, skins page could do with some screen grabs displaying skins.

I could do with a hand on listing the ac types so I can populate the skin folders ready to take uploads.

You may notice that we can now browse the skins folder, and indeed upload skins direct from the page....by a new method ;)

Try it: (you can access this from the skins page too)

http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/skins/skins_list.php (will list/browse and allow download.

http://www.k9squadrons.com/files/skins/skins_upload.php will allow upload of single files.

Neat trick that this does is it will also do a thumbnail, but it has to be a jpg so if you have a nice skin: do a screen grab, make it a jpg (size not too critical) give it the same name as your skin.

See the spit skins folder for an example of the thumbnail ;)

Access is open for anyone to upload until I implement password protection....

Same needs for missions listings, I need campaign areas etc. to create the structure.

Ditto for screens, except I just need ideas on how to structure that. I'm thinking by size/resolution. Say 1024 x 768 folders and 1600 x 1200 etc?

Tracks....Campaign track listings, training and humour?

Again artwork for the above categories would be good, and help much appreciated as this has taken up a lot of time for Jeremy and I. I've enjoyed it though! :)
