JensenPark Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Is the title of a interesting book by John Godfrey, one of the higher scoring US aces of the war. He was kinda Don Gentile's wingman...by 'kinda' I mean it was more of a propaganda thing (him and Gentile...) more than reality. Had heard of him, but a couple things I didn't know... That he was born in Canada, but grew up in the states before heading north and joining the RCAF. Sent overseas with RCAF, posted to the RAF but immediately transferred to the USAAF... Died of Lou Gehrig's disease. Good book if you get the chance to read it...he wrote/dictated it in his dying days with ALS. Quote
