By day 12, you have: 12 pear trees and partridges 22 turtle doves 30 French Hens 36 calling birds 40 gold rings 42 geese (plus hatchlings) 42 swans 40 Maids and cows 36 Drummers drumming 30 Pipers piping 22 Lords a Leaping 12 Maidens dancing Now I don't know about you, but this doesn't sound much like an act of love.
