  1. This should be a sticky I think but someone has taken away my magical power.
  2. Perhaps the most important setting is on the last screen. Voice Communication switch must be in the down position otherwise you will get a sound conflict between TS and your ingame radio comms.

  4. I noticed in the last couple of outings that some of us (you) could hardly be heard on TS. In a couple of cases it sounded as though you were being drowned out with engine noise. Perhaps it is time to check your in game sound settings. Here is screen shots of mine.

  6. You will need a small programe called FRAPS which you can get here Birdy. http://www.fraps.com/download.php Install it to Programs and then start it before you start the game. You should see a little yellow counter in one corner in your game screen. To start recording, press F12 after 5 seconds into Black Death. At 2 minutes, 30 seconds, press f12 again to stop recording. Exit game and go to start/search/ and enter frapslog. Open the log and you should find your average/min/max

  8. You are absolutely correct Logos. It was a 396 CI engine. Do you remember that TV ad with the sheriff and the sunglasses, who looked like Pooka? "What you got there boy?"

  10. On board sound will work Fireman but it does use up CPU cycles. The beauty of most sound cards is that they don't become obsolete. I am using the same one I have had for years yet I have gone through several mobos, video cards and CPU's.

  16. NP Birdy. The lads can now get their teeth into it when they finally show up. I see you are using on board sound and have hardware acceleration running at full. Should be no higher than standard and might even be better at basic. You can adjust it by running dxdiag again and then click on sound. There is a slider there which you can move to lower acceleration. Better still, you might want to get a sound card and disable on board sound in the bios. I think you could get a good card for less than 50 quid. Some of the uk wallahs could advise you best on that.

  18. Go to start/run and then type in dxdiag A report like the attached will be run. Go down to the bottom of the page and click on Save All Infromation. Save it to desktop or my docs and then copy and paste it here.

  20. B16Enk and Bbloke are probably the best guys to help you Birdy and they should be along shortly. You might want to post your dxdiag here. There could be any number of reasons why you are not getting the best performance. 1 gig of ram should be lots so its likely something else like old chipset drivers. 100% CPU usage is quite normal.
