Seriously though, our hosting bill is due renewal on the 9th and I really am fed up with the host.
Site loads too slowly, we are seriously restricted with what we can do (host TS and torrents etc.) and they have a stupid 4GB backup maximum restriction.. hence our losing stuff in the past.
I have spent quite some time refining and testing the migration, and it is at a stage where I believe it should be trouble free now (hope I didn't hex it then).
I will be changing DNS tomorrow morning GMT, around 10 am, and putting the boards here into maintenance mode.
If you want an early preview you can enter this into your hosts file:
178.63.66.69 dangerdogz.com
But you will need to also run this command in a command prompt:
ipconfig /flushdns
You will know you are on the right site - there is no 'www' in the address for now
Remember to remove it though!
And please don't post there - I will be dumping down the database here and overwriting it there.
DNS can take a few hours to replicate, so I will be putting an auto forwarder on the server here that should redirect you silently.
Again I apologise for short notice, it was only today I became confident the move could be done.
And I want a couple of days grace just incase..
Those of you who have active email accounts, these will migrate once DNS has replicated so please make sure you have downloaded all emails you wish to keep, as there will be the latest ones missing from this server.
Once this is complete I will look into a much friendlier email system.
The server is based in Germany, I really do not think the extra latency will be an issue for our Canadian and US friends.
