1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 27, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2009 I have attached full directory output, using dir /s (suggest you do the same) so we can determine accurately what is missing. Just saw your latest, you are missing the [bOOT] folder, so I have attached it [BOOT].zip dir.txt

Snacko
FYI, even thought I don't have a complete set of files, I did a test with nLite to see if it would let me select the XP folder on my hard drive what now has the [bOOT] folder. 1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 27, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2009 Quick Q: Does your current XP system have an I386 folder on it, aside from the one you extracted? Often systems are built and the folder is copied across, so the install media is not required when adding components? There are key files missing from your disk dump, including WINNT.exe which is required for setup, you may be able to use your product key with mine as you key is an MSDN key... Snacko
Do you mean an i386
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 27, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2009 Yep that's the one! The DVD I386 folder is FUBAR, but if you have another Pro one then copy that over, and use that to make the nLite image. The boot folder it would use when creating a bootable image. If your other i386 folder is a pro folder, then zap the one in d:\winxppro2 and copy the other one in, nLite should then build. You have several folders missing including the system folder, plus the key windows set up files.
Snacko
Sorry, I didn't mean that I had one in my Windows folder.

1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 27, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 27, 2009 Hi Snacko. OK so far I have now got a duplicate of your i386 folder, next step is to create a difference package for you. I will (tomorrow now as it is 22:50 now) next create a script to delete your current files from my directory, then I can simply zip up what is left and upload it to the vault for you (thinking aloud here and working out how to do it LOL). Been a long haul getting to this stage, but worth it for the education!

1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 28, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 28, 2009 Done..I hope! Took a 6080 line script to do it All zipped up into 17Mb, 36Mb unpacked, 399 files in 113 folders! You should be able to extract the contents of the file to a temporary folder, then copy the I386 folder over your borked one. nLite should then be happy Enough Flannel...click here to get it M8
Snacko
S! and Hallelujah!! Thanks a bunch Rog!!!
1. DDz Quorum B16Enk Posted January 28, 2009 1. DDz Quorum Share Posted January 28, 2009 Whahaay! Great stuff. nLite is good, one word of advice is to not go overboard on customizing it by removing too much. Neat things like having it put in your key is good, and setting up explorer views etc. are a boon too. Thanks for the S!
