Hi chaps,

Starting Monday 28th January, the mission I host that gives everyone a chance to fly anything will have a new toy: the DCS community made - and therefore free! - A-4E Skyhawk!

However it will mean that anyone wishing to join will have to have the mod installed, whether they wish to fly it or not.

Could I therefore request that those wishing to partake retrieve and install this surprisingly good Mod - it's a fun little jet, not nicknamed the Scooter for no reason!

Follow the install instructions in the thread, it's pretty darn simple as Mod installation goes.

Be advised it's not yet feature complete and they are still working through some bugs, though most have workarounds, and generally don't affect too much the enjoyment of this nippy little jet.

The A-4E mod has jus received an update!

However, for now, for the sake of simplicity and making sure for tonight's session we are all singing from the same hymn sheet, I strongly suggest you delay updating.

It would be best to wait until the current Beta version is ported to the Release as this also solves the issue of exploding Skyhawks when spawning cold & dark on the ground.

Hello chaps/chappesses,

Think it's safe to upgrade our Skyhawk installations to v1.3 now, not sure about compatibility with host, so if we all smile sweetly at FT and batter our eyelashes, maybe he could install it to the Dedicated Server...

OK; I've put the A4 in the same location as Toad.  I'm not interested in flying it but it does not show up in my game and I'm unable to join the DD server without it.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong but.........?

Need help here, the mod is in the right place but it doesn't register with DCS, can't join DD server. Here's pics:

You can see in the lower left corner that the mod requirement is in red. The server is also greyed out when not highlighted.2.jpg

Installation path, A-4E-C folder contains all the stuff it should as per FT's picture.

I switched from stable to open beta via updater program yesterday, hence why file path doesn't say DCS.openbeta. I read on the forums that this is normal when switching and shouldn't be an issue. I'm sure this is the right SavedGames/DCS folder as I created a test mission in the game, saved it, and it shows up in the same folder under Missions.

Gosh I don't know what I'm doing lol. I thought I copied and pasted part of my post that I deleted, inn the end it was an old clipboard item that Fen sent me.

In any case, the problem is resolved, some files were missing after all.
