Hi fellas, a good mate of mine is after a second hand laptop. He can go up to £150 and would like Windows office on it. He only wants to use it for work related stuff and probably won’t even go online with it.

I said I would ask you guys and see what the response was, thanks.......

Mick.

Well, an MS-Windows license and an MS-Office license would cost over £150 so ... you an call it a challenge then :)

Work related stuff? What is his occupation?

A laptop? Is this for the mobility of it, or lack of space?

If he's not gonna go on line, and thus not sharing any stuff, he could be very happy with a rather very old and cheap laptop, with an ancient version of Ubuntu on it, combined with OpenOffice... both are free, so, he could be done with like £50 for a really old laptop with a bad battery?

Ok thanks, I will pass on the info Arjen...

He is a plasterer at the moment but is ex Army and has been doing some bodyguard work for the last few years with a view to running training courses with another ex Army guy.
