Drinking and dancing involved, headscarves not involved, all strictly against the rules of the Islamic Republic You would have no idea how many people drink in Iran and how many people, especially young ones, hold private house parties with dancing, western movies, and revealing dress like in the west. This footage in the hotel is rather timid actually. Pooka, what mall do you refer to? The clip at around 1:14? That's part of the bazaar in Erbil, Iraq, and gender present largely differs based on what's sold in the part of the bazaar you're in. Some streets have only cell phone shops, others sell only power tools, some sell clothes, some jewelry, some food etc... I've been to actual shopping malls in Iran that look exactly like those in the west apart from the women wearing headscarves.
