It is not easy to make an old part finished model look as good as you would like because things need to be done at an early stage to make life easier. I have tried to do the same with kits that have been in my attic for 15 years ! LOL Still looks good though I have heard that they make a 1/32 scale B17 Get your teeth into that baby ! ~S~ Painless.
