About Me
My name is Mike, I live in Birmingham Alabama. I am a Copier Tech for a company called The Stewart Organization Inc. I service the Canon Color Models. I joined the Navy rite out of Highschool in 89 and got out in 93. I was a Machinist Mate 3rd Class. Stationed in San Diego. Did a 6 month WestPac, then spent 90 days in the Indian Ocean Patrolling a 50 Mile Grid During Desert Shield/Storm.
After the Navy, I came back home to Alabama and went to Bessemer Tech for Industrial Electronics. Worked for Xerox for 5 years, and now I've been with The Stewart Org for 12 years. I am a Huge SciFi Geek, I love to watch Science Channel, Syfy, Discovery and History Channels. I am a big time tinkerer. I love riding motorcycles, I currently have a Kawasaki KLR650 Dual Sport, which i have several mods installed. I work on Cars on the side, I rebuilt a 68 Camaro RS from the ground up, and had modernized it with Multiport EFI. It was beautiful. I had it in several car shows until it was stolen from a mall parking deck about 11 years ago. Very Sad day,
I have several projects im working on. I taught myself to weld, which has opened up the door for several projects ive been wanting to do. I recently have completed a "Flight Sim Chair" and Have built a few robots. My next project is a Homemade Turbo Jet Engine using a turbo from a deisel truck. Also I have a Hoveround Chair base that i want to turn into a radio controlled recon robot with pan and tilt camera and possibly a coil gun or paint ball gun mounted, now how much fun would that be. I have have two Flight Lessons back when i was 20. they got too expensive so that is on the backburner for now. I have been flying Xplane for a couple of years. But when I discovered IL2, I absolutely fell in love with it. Actually I built the flight chair just for IL2. I designed the chair to roll and fold up when not in use, to keep the wife happy. I had modded IL2 several times, but when UP3 came out, i decided to start out with a completely vanilla copy an now all i have is UP3 running widescreen mode. As far as flying, still learning. Ive been practicing a little everyday for a few months now in QMB. i am getting better but my landings...............well they're more like crashes. But i am a quick learner and I am very determined. I am excited about being a part of this squadron and eventually becoming an asset to the team.
I am married and we have a girl on her way July 26th. We have a 3 year old girl. Also 12 year old son and 7yr old from previous marriage. So thats pretty much me in a nutshell.
