  1. Well that is everyones hope. It was provisionally booked for Flying Legends last year, but the project had some delays (understandable with such a complex restoration!) It's all down to the owner really, a Mr Jerry Yagen. It's destined for his fighter academy in the USA (Virginia I think...) but he is quoted as saying he'd like it to tour Europe or at least the UK on it's way over. Whether this still stands is unsure, it's been delayed already, maybe he'll just want it home!! Who knows?! Fingers crossed though!
  2. 16 years since anyone has seen/heard this. Truely magnificent!
  3. It flies!!!!! A few days ahead of schedule, take off was today at 10:40 local time. First photo has been posted on Facebook so I took a screen grab for everyone. This makes me so incredibly happy. The Mosquito is one of my all time favourites. It's been 16years since we last had an airworthy example. I do hope we get to see it in the UK before it heads to the states!!
  4. My recent posts in the big fat aeroplane video thread have obviously gone unnoticed!!
  5. Ooooooh, that sounds gooood! A real 'slappy-clappy' sound to it. A bit like the Flug Werk 190 replica and it's Ash radial.
  6. Great vids Arthur! That SA one is incredible! Some of you may know that down in NZ they have a Mosquito very close to flying (scheduled for the end of this month!) Here is the first glimpse of her 'coming alive' Pics here: http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Airshows&thread=16707&page=21
  7. Splendid! We'll see you there matey. It's unlikely I'll be able to stay too late in the evening after the show now due to other commitments and work the following morning. But I may be able to throw a sausage or two down my neck haha
  8. Sounds like it's Sunday then chaps? It's good to get there for gates opening or there abouts. As Tom says, flying starts early at Shoreham. So, who else is in other than Fen, Painless and myself?
  9. Weather looking good for both days so far. Looking forward to it!
  10. Available here: http://www.ntsb.gov/news/events/2012/reno_nv/index.html Makes for interesting reading, and confirms a lot of what many of us initially predicted. "during which the vertical acceleration peaked at 17.3 G" Bloody Hell.
  11. Happy belated Birthday Nick old chap! Hope you had a splendid day.
  12. ROFers and enthusiasts of WW1 aircraft in the UK may want to check out this thread: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=118674 The Shuttleworth collection have just taken delivery of a reproduction Snipe, RE-8 and Albatros from Peter Jackson's NZ workshop. Rumour is they will operate them for the rest of the year (yes flying!) and then they are destined to be static at RAF Hendon (BOOO!) So if you want to witness these rare birds (original engines too I believe) then you may want to toddle over to Biggleswade before the year is out!

  14. The one and only Kermit Weeks taking his Curtis Pusher repro up for a test flight. Now this is flying!
  15. I sincerely hope you are well enough to join us Mr P! If there are a few of us, then I'd be happy to make an evening of it too. There are plenty of eateries around there, being close to Brighton and all. Who knows, perhaps we should have a jolly good thrash in the city?! It's only about 70 miles for Fen and I, and the journey is normally pretty straight forward. It would be an honour to experience Chez Painless though!
