    A10A/A10C

The A-10 is a lot of fun, welcome to the Hog club Bill! I only have the A as part of FC3 and it's enough for me at the moment. Especially with the Harrier taking up enough of my grey matter. I'm sure you'll enjoy that gatling gun, what a tool.
  2. It was a totally splendid day for sure, thanks Nick for your wonderful company as always mate. Looking forward to seeing the pics!
  3. Trust him. They are boooooooooooootiful
  4. Yeah, they were just the orchestrated ground explosions, nothing to see here... It does have a poorly Merlin though.
  5. The newly restored Mk XVI TB885 was used on the Saturday (Dutch Squadron painted ?) and what you see is the engine going kaput unfortunately! Also worryingly edited to show the ground explosions, nothing crashed don't worry. He landed safely and used a different Spitfire on the Sunday (TA805 Mk IX Spirit of Kent to be precise)
  6. The masterful Dan Griffiths making those .50 cals scream like a Mustang!
  7. Another excellent article by the VAE: http://vintageaviationecho.com/flying-legends-2018/
  8. Not sure if I or anyone else has posted this, but there are some gems in this short film of the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations, an Air Pageant staged at White Waltham Airfield in 1977. Of particular note is the VC10 in some serious ground effect at around the 2:45 mark! ?
  9. Cheers all, glad you enjoyed it.

    DCS Formate Shots

Good shots thanks Sheriff. That's loose formation really, I prefer to be tighter than that usually. @DD_Fenrir we ought to practice the routine again and get a vid made
  11. This week, a single seat IL-2 has been recovered from a lake in Russia and is in remarkably good condition, owing mainly to the conditions on the lake bed and method in which it was put down by the pilot in 1943. See the thread here: https://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?145747-Single-Seat-II-2-Lake-Recovery-Russia-this-week And latest photos here: https://scontent.ffcm1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...c8&oe=5BFFDD6Chttps://scontent.ffcm1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...f7&oe=5BF651B1https://scontent.ffcm1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...50&oe=5C02AC7Bhttps://scontent.ffcm1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...7c&oe=5BCC6EB8https://scontent.ffcm1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...93&oe=5C01954D The same restoration team that performed the work on the other two currently airworthy examples will be tasked to return this aircraft back to flight in a few years time. What great news!
  12. Great pics chaps thank you! I got some footage on my smartphone again this year so threw together another little video for those that couldn't make it:
  13. Huge thanks to all the Dogz for being such splendid company at the weekend, I had a blast. The show was fantastic, the weather was sublime and the curry was tasty as usual. Plenty of highlights to choose from, but if I had to be specific, probably the Battle of Britain film salute with four Buchons attacking the field from the south, three Sptifires to defend and all accompanied by the soundtrack over the tannoy. Wonderful stuff! All aircraft involved were actual stars of the film too (50 years ago this July). I'll be putting together a little video again when I get some time later this week hopefully, so watch this space.
  14. That's how I understood it Swep. So really this should be called a J11 and in Swedish markings perhaps... wouldn't get as many bookings as that though unfortunately. Like the Buchon, none in Spanish markings yet...
  15. A few more of Dogz. Crash, Jabo, Painless, Friar, Fenrir Caption contest... Ivan (Son of Gec), Fenrir, Sid Jabo, Painless, BluBear
  16. Curry done, more pics to follow soon
  17. "It was only providence that prevented this accident from resulting in a catastrophic outcome" ? Full report here: https://www.gov.uk/aaib-reports/aaib-investigation-to-north-american-p-51d-mustang-g-shwn-and-north-american-p-51d-20-modified-mustang-g-bixl Video of the incident here (From about 10:30):
  18. FRIENDLY ADVANCED-TICKET-ONLY REMINDER Remember folks, tickets should be purchased online no later than midnight Friday 13th of July for the Saturday show and midnight Saturday 14th for the Sunday show. 19. Not really interested in France Vs Croatia, especially when there are aeroplanes to see ? Incidentally I see they are putting up a screen in the conservation hangar in case anyone would rather watch that, for some reason... (I am to a certain degree pulling legs here, naturally) Good going with the attendance record old bean, 2020 will be my 18th, having only missed the fateful 2003 show since 2001. Many many happy memories over the years and long may it continue! ++++ NEWS! 15th Spitfire just added to the line-up (another Griffon whoop)! That makes: 3x Mk.I 4x Mk.V 3x Tr.IX 1x Mk.IX 1x Mk.XI 1x Mk.XVI 1x Mk.XIV 1x Mk.XVIII
  20. I see it is down as static only as the restoration is not yet complete, but that's ok. It'll be a pleasure to see it up close in Hangar 2. When was the last time a CR.42 flew I wonder? Yes, next year a BofB set piece please, Mk1 Spits and Hurris, the Biggin Hill 109E, Gladiators, Blenheim and CR.42... Imagine that!
  21. Also, there's a certain early war Italian fighter being unwrapped and assembled, now looking largely complete! I wonder if it'll fly in time for Legends?! Now that would be something to see...
  22. So long Miss Velma... and well hello there Contrary Mary! What a stunner, exciting to see a 78th FG painted pony back at Duxford.
