F6F-5 vs. 4 Veteran Zeros last night for a few minutes. Radiator modeling seems good so far. Changes to F6F seems about right,. Seems like you can outrun zeros better now in level flight. I'm finding the A.I.s unpredictability and better deflection shooting delightful so far. So far, I'm liking what I see, but not sure if the blowup flaps are working correctly. Seems like the Pacific Theater will be much more realistic now.

OK so that's legal, but a WW2 veteran fighter pilot can't get in a Spitfire cause the seat isn't safe? Wow, crazy man!

My thoughts exactly when I first saw it. More to protect the gauges from the public then the public from the gauges. Those cute little radiation stickers are just the icing on the cake. Might as well been a beware of dog sign. They used to use radium on watch faces to make them glow in the dark. I remember seeing one of these watches in the American history museum in Washington D.C. The workers, women now know as the "Radium Girls", who painted these watches were assured there was no threat to their health even though the U.S. Radium Corporation was fully aware of the risks. Apparently when the women started dying the company claimed syphilis was often the cause in attempts to "smear the reputations of the women". Not very interested in the A10. This sim just looked like something that would be fun to have some modern dogfight action with until FC3 comes out. Some people just like to have fun without being anal about it.

I don't own the Warhog either, but from what I've seen and herd about it, it looks like it's great for modern jet simulation especially DCS-A10C obviously which is what it was made for. I imagine it might be pretty good for Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2/3 but the issue really is when something becomes so specialized it is bound to lack in other areas. I love the concept of having a realistic sim pit representation of an actual aircraft however in practicality its definitely not ideal. I find that in practice it is much better to make things that are adaptable or universal especially if you are the type that flies more then once sim let alone plane. What your basically left with is making your own mishmash or controllers both production and custom. Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome to have a sim pit for several different planes and then maybe a universal one as well but I personally can neither fund that nor have the time/room for it. There are a ton of guys on the internet with replica pits for A-10, Blackshark, F-16, Bf109 and Spitfires just to name a few and I find them simply wonderful. If I could own one of each with the addition of a custom universal pit I'd be like a kid in a candy store however its just not practical. I mean if all I did was fly DCS-A10c exclusively then why not, but the reality is, like with most of us, I fly all kinds of sims, let alone planes. If I have an extra 500 bucks and nothing else to spend it on I'd get a Warhog, but like I do now, I'd be swapping it out every time I switched sims and there are a few other bits I'd like to get before then like a touch screen for example. As it stands I'm spending too much time with IL-2 and ROF to warrant getting DSC-A10c let along a specialized controller for it. Now when Flaming Cliffs 3 comes out, I will probably be more onboard with the DCS series although even then I don't know if I'll be looking at a Warthog anytime soon. It looks like a well made controller but its a really shame there is not FFB to it. The Logitech looked so promising but I've herd a lot of negative things about it and I'm just not convicted of its performance or usability. Just my 2 secs, its a very interesting conversations and I love talking about controllers.

Really? Why have they said something to the effect? Probably a lot of work but it might happen some time in the future, no??? It would be a real shame to have come this far only to leave things fragmented. As you said, hopefully many of the new features can be added to UP3. If not, that's kind of a deal breaker for me. Don't know but I think I'd much rather have better A.I., overheat modelling, and improved Navy fighters then UP3 and all it's goodness without these improvements. Wondering though if, between the F6F/F4U changes, new A.I. limitations and overheats, will the Pacific become an absolute mindless slaughter for the Japs??? Not that its not historically accurate to a large degree but it might make for some imbalance. Hopefully the new A.I. routines will offset this as sounds like their shooting will be somewhat better and flying more unpredictable. Anywho, sorry to say, but what a terrible cluster of crud this is turning out to be especial where mission building is concerned. I WANT MY CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!!! I'm sure there will be lots of pressure for many of these new features in UP3 or dare I say.....UP4???

I think the most exciting part is for me is the A.I. improvements. This is going to be awesome!!! Now will all this translate over to UP 3.0 RC4? Probably not, have to wait for the new version me thinks. I would also like to track down exactly what changes were made to the F6F and F4U. Hopefully they've increased the speed a bit.

Still, it's amazing how people can kill others for no good reason at all and get less time then people who had a good reason. Well, I guess this idiot thought his was a good reason. Getting out of jail after 25 years even for a totally senseless murder is absolutely appalling to me. Here in the states justice is pretty much totally wacked out as well. The sentences swing wildly from state to state and there seems to be no real standards except how the judge was feeling that day who by the way, have WAY too much power in this country. However a major problem we have over here is with organised crime in which case I don't think the justice is brutal enough. Its just so unbalanced it isn't even funny.
