  1. Wanted: Flight yoke and rudder pedals. A buddy of mine that lives nearby wants to get into flight sims but would rather have a yoke than a joystick. He is a full scale pilot and would feel more comfortable with a controller similar to his experience with flight. Does anyone have a used yoke and or rudder pedals that we can purchase for a resonable price and get him flying with us? I am pretty sure that if he does start flying IL-2 or RoF he will quickly want a flight stick rather than a yoke but I could be wrong. Either way he wants to start first with a yoke. Anything in a closet, attic, basement just laying around? Thanks
  2. I have Dirt2, Dirt3, and Rfactor, I would not mind picking up a race game that other dogz would like to play though.
  3. If you paid by credit card contact them and ask to have the payment contested. Cite delayed fulfillment of order (backorder) and they will take care of it for you. Email Ubisoft and let them know what you are doing and why. You cannot be charged for a product that was not delivered in a timely manner, or in this case never delivered at all.
  4. Jabo, I have never agreed with their business model but I like the game so much that I really cannot cry about it (ok, I do cry about things, lots of things....just ask my wife, but not RoF, lol) I think this is a step in the right direction. Delta7, Welcome aboard! You will love the graphics in this game, watch for the fabric of your wing snapping in the wind, you can hear the wires singing! Oh boy do I like this game. (can you tell? )
  5. According to 777 Studios they are making the demo download unlimited use with two free planes, SPAD 13 and Albatross DVa. It will show up as a demo when you start it until you buy an additional plane and then it shows as owned. Other than the restriction on the free planes everything is unlimited. More info: http://riseofflight.com/tryrof/en
  6. Oh God, another round of sheepish humor Welcome Coco, look forward to being behind your forward facing rear gunners
  7. Jedi and I flew a couple of Snacko's MDS missions in UP 3.0 the other day and everything worked out well. We did Korea and Midway, which ones did you try? Friar, good idea although I have no experience building missions for IL-2 I have been learning the RoF mission builder, perhaps I can find similarities with the two and learn IL-2 mission building.

Excellent Sid! But you forgot one; "Forward firing rear gunner"
  10. But fiddling is half the fun No problems here yet but I have yet to install it also. Download finished a bit ago and too many things on my plate as yet.
  11. Monday Night (9pm EST, -5GMT) RoF is on again tonight! I have a co-op mission and we have several dogfight missions that we can also try out. Hope to see some of you there.

  12. Brando, I know that our RoF schedule does not fit for you but we have been flying some custom missions that I made. Would you like me to zip them up and upload them? You are welcome to try them out, give feedback, fix them, etc.
  13. Woops, didnt mean to delete you. I had four "Mad...somthings" on my list and I was deleting those who did not show activity for more than a month (or that I nave not talked to for more than six months). I must have deleted you and MadDruid. I will add you again.

  14. Steam updated their information on when this game will unlock, approximately 2 months, 5 days and 5 hours (EST). Get the feeling they are worried about consumer backlash in the US/Canada?
  15. Gus is CST and I am EST so perhaps we could arrange some thing Kira.
  16. updating now, I will get the dll file uploaded as soon as it is finished
  17. From the album: PropNut

  18. Many more happy days to you Fenrir!
  19. You are correct about the flight model, it is a joke but is there to support the infantry sim, which is very good (no bunny hoppers, lol). Choppers do a good job to get troops where they need to be. I used to use the ACE2 mod with the Warhawks when we had a Friday night game going. It gave some really good additions to the game but the constant updates and the intricate nature of some of the additions kind of killed the game for us/them. I do not beleive they play Arma2 anymore as a scheduled game. Like anything else, if it becomes more of a job to play rather than an entertainment, you will lose players. Nice thing about ACE2 is that you can pick and choose what you want to use. Rog, sorry that I did not get back to you when you asked about the host/game issues in the Normandy Mod. Gustang is really the person to ask about hosting as he usually hosts for us but I have before. It is simply a matter of loading which mission you want to run as per vanilla Arma2. Getting started requires installation of the mod and two hot-fixes for the mod as well as creating a shortcut with the neccasary command line arguments. So far we have Gustang, Bearforce, and myself with the mod installed. I would love to get more people interested in playing the I44 mod. David
  20. My trim setup (the rotories behind the throttle) thought I would throw in picture of the rest of it as well.
  21. I am 6'4 with size 13's and the CH were indeed too small, so I built my own. Last month I purchased the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals but I hear very good things about the Saitek Pro Pedals as well.
  22. A few days late but happy birthday (yes, yes, I know...I am slow). Sorry to hear about your knee/work issue but I am glad that you got the dayshift, perhaps we will see you more often either Wednesday nights when Mayhem hosts IL-2 or Monday/Friday nights when we play RoF.
