Mine is simple my head set is usb, so splitting the two is straight forward. With a single sound card IIRC you plug the big speakers to the rear jacks, and the headset and mic to the front jacks, manipulate it with the sound card software and then TS. I can't test it though I no longer have and split cable headset.

My concern is, that it says continuous, does that mean it never stops rotating, no hard stops built in? How is he adjusting the dial part and what is it doing to the shot placement?

Off topic but did not the tank crews have some sort of range finding equipment in WW2, or was it as in game lob one and guess then adjust?
