  1. Lol, my secret is out!!! Ever tried speaking to a human being at Microsoft? Lordy! So yes BG, thanks to you XP is sorted. So, in effect you have donated about $50! Have to think about that one. Got a Paypal account or into reading much BG? I owe you. Have got IL2 reloaded, UP downloaded, etc. There is an outside chance of flying tonight but I think that will involve divorce. However, Saturday I will be good to go.
  2. It's a beautiful spring day, warm with not a cloud in the sky. It's also World Book Day. Lunchtime now. All the kids are out running around dressed as their favourite literary characters. I myself am dressed as Captain Hook, complete with hook, eye-patch and a stuffed Parrot on my shoulder. Last year I dressed as Willy Wonker. I look like a bloody fool.
  3. BG, I'll take it. The bloody thing has spent all evening upgrading itself and now won't log on unless activated. As I am still blessed with a full head of hair I have plenty to tear out!
  4. I think that would be very, very handy at the moment BG.
  5. I will be until such a time as funds permit a recovery of sorts. In the meantime, just tried activating my copy of XP on my new HD and the nasty lady from Microsoft has told me to get stuffed! It just gets better. Oh well, I needed an excuse to buy Windows7.
  6. Not sure if that would help. My man is infact my m8 who is the fulltime hardware trouble-shooter for Devon County council. This is what he does all day. He's had my HD in his drive-reader thingy and pronounced the last-rites! I bought a new HD at lunchtime, got my box back on the way home and just fitted it. I'm loading XP on it now. @Toad; yep. I know. DA? I know I'm a DH!!
  7. Thankyou BG. I really appreciate that but it won't be necessary. I don't become broke until the middle of April when my teaching hours are cut, lol. Anyway, it would only get spent on a decent plasterer and brickie as I've been banging my head against the wall too much. Luckily both are pretty thick. I'm going to have to look into trying somesort of data recovery. The pictures that might have been lost are too important to give up. My youngest son is five. Memories of these years will fade. There are things he needs to be able to look at in the future, to be able to show his kids one day.........................................................................................................
  8. Seven-hundred and fifty squid!!! I was thinking more along the lines of £75. Oh dear. @ Yes Jim. I realise that now.
  9. My man informs me it is a total loss. I'm being...................................'philosophical' about it. Not the end of the world. However, I've probably lost a years worth of photos which will include days out with my mum, family birthdays, my youngest sons first appearance in school uniform, christmas, Duxford, etc. plus three solid weeks of evenings spent on lesson planning through to the end of summer term. My man is good but I'm going to get a second opinion.
  10. Nice to see you here Steve. You are very welcome.
  11. Aha, got it sorted. Found anti-aliasing turned off in nvidia control panels global settings. Dunno what did that but it's all running beautifully again. Edit; 'Twas using Trackir 5 software and interface that did away with the settings. Pity really as it seems to run my trackir 4 just that little bit smoother. Never mind.
  12. I seem to have lost the anti-aliasing in my game. It's all very jaggy. Can't think why. I haven't fiddled with anything..............except, I've been using the Trackir 5 software as I've found it smoother than version four. I seem to recall there was a conflict between version five and IL-2 to do with anti-aliasing so I've just deleted this version but I've still got jaggies. Also, last week Rise of Flight had an update which I think did some sort of Direct-X update also. Would that effect IL-2? It runs on open-gl. Any ideas? I'm a bit stuck. Have Nvidia control panel and N-hancer if needed.
  13. My link At last a half decent review with some great screenies, just bear with the Russian translation;
  14. Would really like to meet the gentleman who designed the electrical system on VW Passats so I can shove the CCM right up his backside!!

ok, window closed. Now only gotta find the ccm and part of loom on e-bay. If I can't; gonna fill it full of concrete and turn it over to Sid's boy for target practise!

  15. Can't help thinking that if you made yourself admin on his pc Friar you could then lock "Family filter On" and thus save on the old boys wallet and blood pressure and your time.
  16. Nice pics, Fruitbat. Got one of Leit?

  17. I thought you had an E8400 BG?
  18. Thats just astonishing! And all because his wife dosen't like sex.
  19. Interesting! First convincing video of action at low-level over land too. Plenty of "glowing sperm" still being fired off but no stutters. Dosen't seem too shabby does it!?
  20. If the old regime is swept away they'll dig up all sorts of sh*t thats been covered up. Y'know; torture, execution, corruption, etc. the usual stuff but it really depends on how much loot Mubarak and his friends and family have managed to trouser over the years. If it really is tens of billions as has been alledged then I think the new lot in power will want it back with menaces.
  21. I'm registered at the banana forums but have never posted there. Just discovered I've had five p.m's sent to me there over the years. Three of which want me to buy viagra and this little gem; Amazing.
  22. Kimo, stand by to receive another e-mail shortly from the "state department" which will probably ask you to hand over bank account details to them in order to receive your visa and plane ticket. If you do this I would imagine some of our Nigerian friends will be visiting your bank account soon. After all, it takes a lot of money to keep the "state department" rolling. OR The state department really do monitor the Ubizoo and this is what comes from posting pictures of hairy transexuals on the Cliffs of Dover board.
  23. Cor, check this out! From todays CoD update over on the banana forums; Yer man is flying a Hurricane ( about as well as I do) and attacking some Stukas. Note the fantastic 6DoF of his TrackIr and all that light and shade through the cockpit. At 1.30 he gets bored flying the Hurri and switches to an external view of a Stuka. At 1.40 he presses the F1 key and Hey Presto! he's flying the Stuka! I don't care if it's only got a few planes on it's release. CoD can only get better and better. Better start saving up for that Quad Core though.
  24. All I know about Subaru's is that here in the UK they consistently win the customer satisfaction surveys for reliability/good dealership service. Nice butch-looking car there. A 3.6litre petrol auto. Wow. I bet they sell about six of those in the UK this year. Gas at my local garage is now £1.31 per litre!!!!!!!!!!!!! I note there is plenty of room in the back with seats down for your Vietnamese gardening team to drug and sexually abuse JP on his next visit.
