Hey, happy birthday Todd. Hope you have great day!

Wow, never realised it was like that FT. Looks like the Lancs bomb bays have been stuffed with loaves of bread? A friend of mine's Dad is Dutch. He was fifteen and an orphan in 1945 and can still recall the relief and wonder at food from the sky. Immediately after the liberation, as an orphan he was evacuated to the UK, by the Red Cross I think, as a temporary measure whilst Holland got itself sorted out but ended up staying. Of course if that ass Montgomery had secured the whole of the Sheldt estuary in the winter of '44 when the kruats were in full flight eastwards there would have been no need for operation Manna and the war in the west really would have been over earlier.

New Patch
DD_Arthur replied to Shadrach's topic in IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz and Desert Wings: Tobruk
Trib, my pc; E6600 intel chip running at 2.9ghz. Thats a dual core chip. 4gigs of decent ram and an Nvidia GT460 card with 756mb of Vram. Upgraded from XP to Win7 64bit. With all the latest patches for CoD I run it at a resolution of 1680 x 1050 which is my screens native resolution. With a bit of fiddling with the games video settings menu I get in the range 30 to 45 fps. It is now perfectly playable for both online and offline for me. Infact the graphics quality/framerates/stutters is no longer an issue so I'm now able to moan about the whole host of other things that are wrong with this game. The various bugs, stuff just plain missing, the awful sounds and the clunky and counter-intuitive GUI. I think proper SLI support and more optimisation of the games use of multi-core processors are now the devs priority before US launch. In short I think your machine will run CoD adequately on Win7. The next step would be a 'latest and greatest' graphic card but I'm not really up to speed on that sort of stuff at the moment. Good luck -
@Toad, latest patch containing force-feed back support, etc. is still in Beta. Should be on Steam early this week. I'm pretty sure Oleg said a couple of years ago that if you could play IL-2 on perfect settings, fairly maxed out then CoD would be playable at least on medium settings. I think they've acheived that now. I think that the performance/graphical issues have been sorted for the time being. They should now concentrate on the clunky horrible, counter-intuitive GUI and then go on a general bug fixing spree. I'm very pleased that force-feedback support has now arrived. Infact I'm now very pleased with it, period

Hi there JG1. Although you have registered on our site with us you don't automatically get full access to stuff like our download vault or teamspeak details. I rather feel this CloD mod has now been superceded by the last official patch. If you have the game installed Steam will have updated your game already. Another official patch will be released by the CloD devs later this week. Are you interested in flying with us? If so tell us a little about yourself and I'm sure our glorious leader BG will be along soon to welcome you. We don't mind people joining us who are also members of other squads. Several of us are. We seem to be flying just about everything at the moment on just about every night of the week too If you want an idea of what flying with the Dogz is like then check this thread out; My link Good luck!

Happy Easter BG and the Dogz. Today was my youngest sons sixth birthday. Weather has been scorchio all week and I'm on Easter holidays 'till Tuesday. Sorry Snacko! My best wishes to you on getting Baptised, btw. Instead of going to the beach we had some friends and their kids round for a birthday party/barbeque. Just come in now from sitting around the firepit in my garden, drinking wine and shooting the shit. Feeling very mellow. Looking forward to flying with you and the guys on Saturday now I've got my rig sorted out. Young gentlemen prefer blondes; Getting in on the act with his big brothers and their mates;

X52 Control Improved

Sez thread broken 'ere Zooly. What does it do, anyway? -
Kev, I'm on lovely all singing, all dancing Win.7 64bit. Got it loaded on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Loaded up CloD and Wow! It lives. Spent most of a very sunny Sunday fiddling with it so I'm in the doghouse wiv' 'er indoors at the moment On Easter hols now so will have another fiddle with this mod later on tonight. My main concern is my old faithful Saitek Cyborg 3d force. It seems to need a dose of Viagra. I know FF isn't supported by CloD (what a joke) but it's given my stick a vasectomy. Very impressed by CloD though. It's gonna be fantastic in a couple of years. Looking forward to FW190 and P47 'pits with this level of detail. Oh yeah, Friar; if you're reading this; I pre-ordered the bog standard boxed DVD at the beginning of March but it didn't arrive in time for the launch. Very decently UBI sent me a free code to download the game off Steam. It works fine. Last week the boxed game turned up in the post. I've tried loading it but Steam over-rides it and I can't load it. It's sitting here now. Doing nothing. Unused. Looking for a home. I've got the game and I'm happy. It's f.o.c. m8, Interested?

Couldn't launch game Replaced original Launcher.exe.config and could launch game Fruitbat is it important that the files are in the order as shown in your illustration? The modded launcher.exe.config would place itself above the raf roundel whereas the original always went under the roundel. I must be doing something wrong. No noticeable increase in games performance. But at least by replacing original Launcher.exe.config I haven't buggered my game up, er, anymore than 1C have buggered it anyway!

Trib, there is no rush yet. The longer you leave it the better CloD will be patched up. I can't see it becoming a DangerDogz standard for a long while yet. Getting SLI sorted out is one of their priorities so if you do upgrade I'm sure two GTX 470's will work well. I've been trying to run this thing on Windows XP for a week or so and it's been a complete waste of time. Last night I upgraded to Win7 64bit and it went very well and believe me I am a computer dunce To upgrade from 32 to 64 bit does mean in effect a clean install so you'll need to save everything you want to keep to dvd's or an external hard drive. I found this very helpful; http://windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor Check out the videos too. I also burnt a lot of 64bit drivers for various things to dvd beforehand. I have to say, after a week of wrestling with massive graphics corruption and the game crashing constantly on XP, it runs beautifully in Win7 and really is a thing of beauty. Well worth the hassle of changing operating systems. From now on it can only get better and better. I agree not having support for FF is absurd and my Cyborg 3D force stick is now rather, um, floppy but I'm sure I'll get round it or end up buying a cheap Saitek X45 off of evilbay. I think this is another sign of a hasty release. It's all been a bit of a hassle but it's worth it and I'm getting there. I think we've all forgotten that IL2 has been around for so long now and we've all been able to max it out on our systems for two or three years that there was a time when we had to wait for the hardware to catch up with the game. CloD is now on that path too. The developers now need to patch hell out of it before it's North American release on steam or they're all heading for a financial Gulag. -
Hey Artie its a video on youtube. Cant you see the film or link? Jimbo Yeah, got it now Jim. Lol lots and lots. He'll be having trouble with his cam-chain tensioner next!
