New Nvidia beta drivers out nowMy link Seems to have helped my GTX460 with CoD. I've been flying a bit on the Syndicate server. Full real on the channel map, fairly well populated as dogfight servers go and a good way to learn the eccentricities of CEM. I'm pretty sure the '109 is not as it should be though. Get into any turn and burn with the rotol Hurricane and you're deadmeat with not have enough speed to break off the engagement Infact for me the rotol Hurricane is the outstanding plane of this sim at the moment. Stable, easily managed and eight .303's at convergence are deadly to anything.

Flown online tonight with new patch and hotfix ( I think) and I was very impressed. There seems to be light anti-aircraft fire where there was none before and it's done very well. 303's ploughing into the field around a low flying and evading 109 were great. I got 'im aswell Switched sides and flew the 109 which seems to have gained some speed and no overheating/engine shaking problems. Covered a guy taking big lumps out of a Spitty which caught fire slowly and watched the fire spread. Overall, stable and very playable Shadrach; yeah, I agree. It did seem to improve over the course of half an hour or so. It's gettin' there.

I agree with this. The North American Steam market is bigger than the rest of the world combined and if they release CoD as it is now they'd be overwhelmed by the avalanche of sh1t that would swiftly overwhelm them. I would imagine Ubisoft management must be considering their global reputation. Pity though as I still think CoD has star potential when it's sorted. I firmly believe thats a "when" not an "if." Double pity as it means no North American guys in multi-player yet so for night-owls like me there's no-one online after 11p.m. gmt. Mind you, the last beta patch completely screwed multi-player for me anyway. Haven't had a chance to try the new official patch yet. Actually the bit about paying off everyones mortgage makes sense. Apparently the amount of money spent by the treasury in the last three years supporting the banking sector would be equivalent to paying off all domestic mortgages in the UK!!!! Also, since all our building societies were bought out by the banks years ago it would also have the benefit of giving back our banking sector the liquidity it craves. Amazing innit!? Don't know what effect this would have on inflation though which, being an economics dunce, (I've bought another euro-millions ticket today) can I ask; If inflation is bad why does everyone bemoan the slump in house prices we're having? Isn't house-price inflation just as bad as any other kind of inflation? Edit; Must buy a British car? Fine by me, I've always fancied a Morgan. Are there any other British owned car-makers left?

Have reverted back to the stock game at the moment so multiplayer works.....after a fashion. Will wait and see what this weeks beta patch brings.............but I'm sure everyone whose got it has noticed the drop in framerates as you approach a formation of bombers. I mean it really drops when you get within 200m of a formation. Why is this? I ask as I've noticed this; attacking a group of bombers in the Spitfire. CEM on. Due to the all or nothing nature of the Spits. mixture controls after a couple of minutes the engine starts to fart and shake, the canopy gets a small coating of oil. Go to external view and you can see flames coming out of the exhaust headers as it judders along. Framerates drop from 45ish to 20-25ish. If I engage autopilot my pc takes over and adjusts CEM setting immediately and 'plane stops juddering and farting. Frame rates immediately go back up to 45ish! Why is this? Also, is this linked to why framerates drop approaching a bomber formation? Weird.........like most things to do with CoD.

Is there any way to get rid of the bloody things? Gettin' really annoying now.

Not quite sure what to think of this latest patch. It hasn't done anything for my frame rates. Multi-player has slowed down a tad I'm sure and the only way to exit a server is to bring up Task-Manager now!! Force feedback in a rather basic form has been tacked on to the game. Thankyou Jedi for showing me how to disable certain features of this. The '109 no longer gets the shakes though I don't think they've sorted the CEM or anti-aliasing either. Still lots and lots of stuff to be sorted out yet. Still hoping to have the Sukhio aerobatic plane-thingy for the US launch. Oh yeah, finally realised what the channel map reminds me of. Thailand for sure!! The colours are correct for S.E. Asia 'cause S.E. England certainly don't look like that! For all this, there's still something sublime about the atmospherics, the cockpit shadows, seeing De-Wilde ammo. striking Dorniers, etc. Rotol Hurricane has become my favourite 'plane.

I use the keyboard for trim as I have a Saitek force feedback stick. I must admit I've been bounced loads of times online whilst I've been fiddling with trim. Trim on the hatswitch? Thats an interesting idea. I'm gonna try that for IL2 1946. Can't use it for CoD as I've got the zoom views on the hatswitch which works very well. My you, trim is one of the last things to worry about in CoD at the moment, lol.
