  1. I use the icon but I don't have the hud up. I press H to get rid of the hud, server messages, chat and icons. I then press I and It gives me just the icons back.
  2. Ahhh....now that does sound like a civil service negociated contract! I wonder if this is all a bit of a contract dance? Flying Legends comes roaring back in 2022 with Nick Grey having to put his hand deeper into his pocket but joyfully re-united with Duxford?
  3. Woke up this morning to grotty weather here so decided to take a quick flip around Dunkeswell - our local GA airfield = in real time weather. Note the proximity of two other abandoned airfields. Apologies for the sound, I think the game is slightly bugged at the moment.
  4. Go to the IL2 Great Battles forum and click on the top where it says IL2 STURMOVIK. Then login at the top right and then go My Profile on top right again. Then click on License Keys in the red box and that will give you a list of what you've got and whether it's activated. Copy your Tobruk one and then....................not too sure but you've got to paste it into a box in Steam as CLoD is a Steam only game. I think you have to click on your Blitz edition thing in your library where it might say something like 'add DLC' as it's treated as a DLC for CLoD/Blitz. Basically you've got to paste the freakin' code somewhere in Steam!!
  5. Don’t want to sound too cynical but I can just imagine the sales brochures in five years time; ‘Bovis Homes welcomes you to it’s exclusive new development at Bader Way, Duxford’.
  6. Goodwood has the infrastructure to handle the sort of crowds FL attracts but surely this event must be an enormous cash cow for the IWM, no?
  7. If you're having trouble getting trackir to work; open it and update to the latest drivers. There's a little box up in the top right corner on the main settings page. Did the trick for Pooka and I.
  8. Yeah, I'm up for it. Oh course, it means wearing my Oculus Rift backwards again...sigh...
  9. Thats brilliant! Just think of all the other products you could buy and then return as faulty and get a chance to tell a joke as you obtain a refund It could go on for years before the police track you down you run out of jokes* Better still, we could start sending you stuff to return on our behalf!! Hello? Hello Is that Mr. Friar from the Priory......again? Yes, it's me Mary What is is you'd like to return this week Mr. Friar? I've got this butt plug with a faulty solenoid Mary.......would you like to hear a joke? *You will run out of jokes one day won't you? Please, promise us now.....
  10. My MSFFB2 is recognised by the game but it does not have a key assignment. I managed to map the essentials to it but for my throttle I think I’m going to have to write the lever and switch numbers down and then add them through the game. I haven’t found a way to adjust stick sensitivity yet.
  11. Took off from Kenley too. Eventually I hope to be able to land it without the horrible crunching noises!
  12. I haven’t fiddled with any of the settings yet. It’s running on the settings the game chose. It decided I was High but not Ultra😎 Okay, fingers on buzzers, here’s git#2
  13. Yeah the ai decides to draw some weird stuff. I think their library and their algorithm might be a bit limited when it comes to ‘older’ buildings of non-North American origin. Churches in particular suffer from this. However, gain a little altitude (1000m) and it all starts to look astonishing.😍
  14. Yeah, it’s a toughie. Flew this just after lunch today with ‘live’ weather.
  15. Thanks to the member map data may I present an exciting new contest with a complete lack of fantastic prizes!😀. Here’s the first one...any guesses?
  16. Bought the London city buildings expansion as it looks good and it’s an inexpensive way of dipping my toes in the water. I pressed the ‘Buy and Install’ button and went through the payment process and.....er.....where is it? My bank says I’ve paid for it and Microsoft say I own it but.....😱
  17. I bought it from Microsoft directly. Everything to do with it’s installation was a pain. First of all I registered for an XBox for PC account. Then I had to register with Microsoft in order to purchase it. Let’s see...what was next? Oh yeah, I then tried to download it but Microsoft could not find a device to download it to so I had to register my PC with Microsoft- yes really! Then I was able to pre-download it. Only it doesn’t, it only d/l around 900mb which I think must have been the installer before stopping. I was able to download the other 130 odd gig the following morning. To compound matters, none of the above was obvious or straight forward on the various Microsoft web pages I was required to visit. An absurd process.
  18. I will try Friar. Fridays and Saturday evening have been decreed family lockdown fun evenings by the commander in chief atm. Are you still having trouble getting it going?
  19. Got it going around midnight with just the very basics mapped to my MSFFB2 and graphics settings not touched at all. TrackIr worked fine as did new Nvidia drivers released today with support for this sim. Exeter to Dunkeswell via Sidmouth - a flight I’ve made many times in various light aircraft. Astonishing 😎.
  20. This is EXACTLY what my download experience was 😫
  21. Not me. Currently listening to my wife and her sisters issuing blood curdling threats against a.n. 4x4 driver.😱
