The meta one seems a touch pricey.
This from the man who's just bought a 4090?

"What do you want for Christmas Dad?"
"Er....how about Armageddon?"
"Is that expensive?"
"Twenty-eight quid"
"I see...a bargain then?"
"Kinda...."

Falklands.
Hmmm….didn’t we spend a million squillion quid on RAF Mount Pleasant back in the eighties so we wouldn’t have to worry about expensive aircraft carriers?
Our defence spending since the end of the Cold War seems to run along the lines of “who’s turn is it for something expensive?” without considering what we actually can do or need to do.
Not too sure if we need to sail halfway around the world to wind up the Chinese…
-
We simply don’t have the money for these things and this incident was a symptom of this underfunding.
Quite what we need them for anyway is another question.
A carrier battle group is a military, economic and societal statement. Notice that neither the Russians or the Chinese have anything approaching the scope of what the US navy can field and they never will.
As for our own - absurd -defence procurement policy; at the level of spending we can commit something has to give;
for the luxury of two fleet carriers that will never go to sea at the same time we have given up our capability to field an infantry division overseas and have a navy with the fewest ships since Henry VIII watched the Mary Rose sink in Portsmouth harbour.
It’s absurd.

You want father jack???
This is DCS. They’ll produce a map of Craggy Island before anything useful like the Korean peninsular or the Gulf of Tonkin.
I would imagine the promo video will be the usual mix of stirring music, 3 second cut scenes of grey aeroplanes and Mrs. Doyle carrying a tea service between kersplosions.- 1

Yep, this lot used to cheer for Henrik Larsson😀

Oh well. Scottish, Scouse, I still don't understand what they are saying. They both sound similar
No, no Swep. They're very different. He's an example of a traditional Scottish choir in full voice....

I'm really tempted by this but I haven't got any pedals. Also, just got a 32" 144h curved screen in anticipation of all these freebies we get on Friday

Perhaps "Delete" is a strong word, perhaps we could move them to a forum called "dusty old cupboard".
I think that is a really good idea. We wouldn't loose them and quite possibly it would actually encourage people to explore them.

Salute
I have gone through the forum this morning and marked those boards and threads which have been idle for a quite a while now with a view to deleting them.
I will give it a month or so and if no one comes forward with a compelling reason why one or more of them should be kept I will remove them.
Friar
Hello Colin. Not trying to be atagonistic or anything but can I ask what compelling reason there is to delete them? Are they harming anyone or getting in the way of anything or costing anything to retain? Does it slow these boards down or something?
As you know, the Dogz have been going for quite a while now. Are we ashamed of our history? I don't quite understand the motivation to get rid of 'stuff'

Nice to see you all looking well (in a photo at least).
Due to a survey and design cock up we now have to wait for both gas and electric meters to be moved before our already ripped out kitchen can be recommissioned! It could be a six to eight week wait for the electricity gits to fit us in for meter relocation. Deep fecking joy !
Hi Mick, new kitchen? Good fun innit?😧
