Yea, as far as I know, if you want to play Windows games you should be running Windows for the best results.
I have never had a Mac, but know they make virtual os software to pretend it is windows.

Well, FYI for anybody else who may have this problem.
I told the AMD ATI Support site that I was running Vista 64bit and then there was a link at the bottom of the 9.11 (current) download page for Previous Drivers.
I did as I stated above, and ran the 'a.exe' from the CD with Admin privileges and installed it to my own folder here: C:\My Programs\Ubisoft\IL2 Sturmovik 1946.
I have mine setup similar Jabo.
I have:
C: (Windows 7 OS)
D: My Documents (All personal files, ie music, videos, photos, Documents ect..)
E: Ghost image of C: and a periodic backup of D:
