  1. was a bit bored today so took the rig to pieces and cleaned everything in nice, soapy water (ok, maybe not quite), installed it all back in a new case with new fans, cables & LEDs so I can see where to plug things in, re-worked my standard build iso to include a few exra programs and reinstalled the lot - takes about 30 minutes now. I'll get the controllers sorted in due course - but it's been a nice day.

  4. So I was in the attic earlier looking for my rucksack. Didn't find it before finding a large colony of bees who've set up home in my roof. Needless to say I exited the attic with alacrity and no rucksack.

Sure they're bees? Wasps are more likely to swarm in attics - and you need to get them removed if they are wasps.

On reflection I guess my worst was flying a B-25 on a low-level bomb-run, with another 3 6BL guys aboard. I settled into the approach at 600 feet - hit a button - and bailed out! Talk about melting headphones; I've never lived that down.

my worst was having bomb release mapped to the same button as flaps down; separated only by a mode-shift on my CH stick & map. I once took out eight people and their planes, including myself.

Fortunately I was the host that time....

Hmm, opto-isolators, eh? That's a little way (several light-years, geddit?) beyond my understanding! My system involves a rising platform, a castle, a strange assistant and an electrical storm ;-)

I'm so glad that our two boys have territories that don't extend as far as any road - we live up a long drive and have a large private school behind us. The scariest thing they have to avoid is the buzzards that patrol the ridges and the hillsides.

I'm glad to hear that your fella is OK.

by 'ethernet' d'you mean cable or DSL?

Whichever, it's always better than wi-fi - unless you only have wi-fi.....

Yeah, happily I did get about 6 hours - which was 6 more than the night before! It's something to do with the arrival of strong low-pressure systems setting off convulsions in my phantom limb....that's probably too much information! Thanks for asking.

I know what a fem-fem crossover means and it ain't a sex change. What I can say is that this procedure was first carried out in 1946 - which means it is well-established and perfected. Like you, I'm old enough to remember the very first heart transplant - now it's just another common procedure in the surgeon's arsenal.
