  1. The server that the mission is running on is 4.11, we`re waiting for HSFX to appear before we change it.
  2. Thats a great idea, our most active members are bomber mad, if you guys wanted to run a group event where you were all in fighters and whose mission it was to stop the bombers/escorts that would get a lot of support from our side. Not sure if an event where were all in fighters would get the same, as sadly IL2 player numbers have dropped especially in locked pit. I`ll be back more often if thats ok, I enjoy any organised event, especially with good fair minded people such as you guys. If you could pass my condolences to Jim`s family that would be great (if you guys think that it wouldn`t cause them any more upset).
  3. Hi all, About 4 or 5 years ago BFs and DD`s engaged in a series of server wars type events, a great time was had by all as I remember and organising things with Jim was a pleasure. So it`s with great sadness that I read Jim has passed away, i`m sure he`s sorely missed as is BK_Prince who we lost 3 years ago. I came here to ask you guys if you`d be interested in a locked pit event BF3 is hosting tomorrow, It`s an historicaly based mission and there are quite a few slots both RAF and Luftwaffe available. Here`s the link http://www.battle-fi...-4-SIGN-UP-HERE, please sign up or just turn up if your interested, it`s stock 4.11 btw. Well, sorry it`s been so long, and sincere condolences for the loss of Jim. Ian
  4. I believe the new builds use a licensed version of the engine used in the La5 series of aircraft, Ash82 i believe it`s called.
  5. Morning gents, long time no speak from my side. I hope you`re all well and obviously still enjoying the game. Did I see on Hyperlobby that you`ve got
  6. thx for contributing at all mate, anything is gratefully received. The other location we house UK1 and Uk2 at has a 6mb fibre connection, in the daytime we share it with a small office building. We might move UK3 there, at full tilt with 36 players IL2 draws approx 1.5mb of bandwidth, peaking when a mission loads and people join, the available bandwidth should be fine in the evenings and at weekends, because the office wallers have gone home. In the day we get occasional lag spikes due to the shared usage, and Fri at 4.30PM they all appear to be backing up, this results in ping kicks. But we have a fairly trouble free time of it usually, I don`t see a major problem if UK3 moves there, but i`d personally prefer it to stay where it is, on its own dedicated line.
  7. Hi Jim, yeh long time no speak, hope you and your chaps are all ok. Thx Tonar, it`s always a pleasure having you guys on the server and it`s great to have UK3 back and running. Keep checking our forums though as due to financial constraints we might have to move the server to the new location, i`ll keep you all up to speed with the ip`s etc. UK3 costs £60 a month to run at it`s current location, we`re hoping to get it self sufficient, either by actively encouraging donation or giving another squad part ownership. I`ll drop some cash in your Paypal link on Friday, since i`ve been more actively involved in the server side of things i`ve realised it`s not free and takes a lot of time and effort. Look forward to seeing you guys soon, make it your second home, your always welcome.
  8. Fired the old girl up on Sunday night, we had 16 on last night incl 2 DD guys, just to let you gents know you are all welcome on the server and we hope to see you on there again soon. It`s on Hyperlobby as UKDed.3 or direct ip as 87.237.59.116:21000. It`s running on FBDj server software, is mod friendly and has skin download enabled. Thx
  9. Yeh thx Delta, thats given me a few pointers.I hope you don`t mind me posting the link on our website, this could be really useful to all players dipping their toes in the TrackIr pool.
  10. Yeh thx Delta, thats given me a few pointers.I hope you don`t mind me posting the link on our website, this could be really useful to all players dipping their toes in the TrackIr pool.
  11. Yeh it`s always a good idea to stick when your winning, if it aint broke don`t fix it as they say. Anyway hope to see your guys back over at our place soon,UK3 is seeing far greater numbers now and is a better place to fly as a result.Thx once more for coming by in numbers. Ian
  12. Be great if we could play you guys again sometime in the future, but using your maps or co-op`s.I`m not sure how that would work, but i`m sure we can come up with something together.Be great to form some sort of bond and allegiance with each other, your appearing on UK3 was like a breath of fresh air, here we had a squad who were prepared to split up,helped each other, and didn`t cause any aggro on the server, also UK3 was flagging a little before you came onboard, since which it`s picked up quite dramatically,so big thx for that. Both groups follow the same fair play guidelines, and we all really appreciate your input. The syndicate area has just started a post saying what a great night they all had.So big up the Jim & the DD`s. Ian
  13. Thx to all the guys that played tonight,I can honestly say that was the best night we`ve ever had on the UK3 server. The level of teamwork was superb,no sooner were you lining someone up,than his buddy was on your six.I must apologise to all and specifically Jim (Blairgowrie) for not supplying the password,I was out all day with the kids and only remembered 30 mins before the start of the game. Also for the messing about with server at the start, were running a new system and only 1 guy had any knowledge of it`s workings, that won`t happen again. It was a good learning curve and a fantastic night.I do hope you`d all be prepared to come back for another game, and hope that you accept my apologies for the hitches.Once again massive thanks for what was (once we got sorted lol) a great night. Cheers Ian ([bFs]Smurfy)
