I suspect the thread was deleted for mentioning the mods at all, as they are still anathema in some circles. As for Mr Jolly, I respect that he is trying to keep some honor and order in what is essentially illegal operation, but I can't for the life of me see anyone having a problem with the 352nd's mod pack, as it makes the Mods available to persons who would otherwise have far to much trouble with the installations to even use them, and gives a common base for intra and inter squad play. The 352nd Mod pack has fully configurable wind just ad the parameters at the end of the .mis file in notepad. Here is the readme; User-Configurable Wind Parameters mod ===================================== This mod lets the user configure five wind parameters: velocity, direction, top, turbulence and gust. Extract the WindConfig folder in the rar file to the MODS folder in your IL-2 1946 game folder. This mod is not currently compatible with uf_josse's modified wind gusts mod. To set the parameters, after you've created a mission open up the mission file (.mis) with a text editor such as Notepad, and add a [Weather] section at the end. It would look something like: [Weather]

From what I've read IL2 doesn't play well with dual cores. It may well be that it isn't anissue on all dual cores. I believe the issue is with the computer's assignment of the cores to the game as the game can only use one, and if the computer is switching back and forth between cores it can cause lag and stutters. If that's the case with an individual computer then it would make sense to assign the game to one core manually, if it's not a problem then I'd just let the computer do it.

If that doesn't work, try turning off triple buffering, IL2 doesn't seem to like it (at least with my 7800GTX).

I should think that a USB problem would have been fixed by the re-install. I think it almost has to be a hardware problem, either on the mother board or in one of the devices. If your not having problems with other devices, then it must be either the mouse or one of the other devices conflicting with the mouse. I think the first order of business has to be trying another mouse if you don't have one laying around, perhapse a friend at work might have one, alternately you might try unplugging all of the other USB devices and see if the problem goes away, then you can plug them back on at a time to find the offender. On second thought it could be a driver, but I would start my investigation with the hardware.
