I just completed the series. Damn fine movie making and story telling. The character development is much better than can be achieved in a single film, yet there is still mystery. The only downside is that the last movie was dubbed (I tried to find subtitles) and as usual it was done badly, and it was frankly just slightly of lower quality overall than the others........I suspect it had a bigger budget.
I would say that if your into some good old fashioned mystery/thriller/action, and you don't mind a bit of very adult content and even a little gratuitous lesbian sex (OK, you Danger Dogz can ignore the warning, you all will probably only watch it for that), this series is for you.
If you join Amazon's Amazon Prime, (free for one month) you can watch all three movies for free via streaming.
The two sequels are The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest. (The last one is a stupid title isn't it? It is appropriate to the story though) All three are available dubbed if you don't care for subtitles, the last one is (unfortunately) available only that way.
Go on, do it, you know you want to.
+About 1000%. The original Luc Besson movie is fantastic and then Hollywood turned it into a POS vehicle for Bridget Fonda without changing the script one iota just managing to lose everything that made the original fantastic. Why do they do that?
I don't think they do it on purpose, I think they just have to much money.
